    @QBCCIntegrity Mine didn't even go off. Telstra gave a warning about interruptions to the service where I was at work.

    @lagoonki Incidentally, while I was taking my pic on the Yorke, my phone was operating on the signal from the Telstra tower on Kangaroo Island, it's so close.

    Apparently of the 604 failed emergency calls on Telstra network, only 172 were successful. This raises a question whether these calls were made in Telstra only cells. If yes, this raises a possible use case for satellite, for roaming carriers to beam to these cells for emergency.
