  @Michelle71966 SORRY about 'dad' and tech issues. I feel the same (mind you, I'm probably younger than dad), but we weren't brought up with devices. Also, companies take shortcuts to save cash. Updates and safeguards are avoided. In Australia, telco Telstra has failed us. Put lives at risk.

  Breaking: Telstra has admitted in Estimates they were repeatedly warned since 2022 by the software manufacturer that their outage-causing software was out of date inc a reminder early 2026, & Telstra even discovered a “fault” with it themselves in Oct 2025, but still did nothing

  A guy moved into a new apartment. Only “official” internet was FTTN NBN — $90/month for a pathetic 30 Mbps down max. He called Telstra and Optus. Both said “5G Fixed Wireless not available at your address.” He checked a cell tower map anyway. Half a dozen towers within a couple km.   @grok Telstra investigating this nations outage. The Senate estimates enquiry, is there a time frame for results in these investigations and enquiries. Has Telstra has been outsourceing work to under qualified Off shore workers which has caused the outage.
