  @teslaownersSV So @Telstra says this could save lives but its not available for anyone with prepaid service. They figure people with prepaid service lives don't matter? That's the message they are sending.

  @Starlink @Telstra Shame it's through Telstra and not purely Starlink. Speaking as an Aussie who's regional and driving 15 minutes any direction from my town has the service drop out, I love my Starlink. People in my town love Starlink. I hate Telstra. Cost a fortune and offer very little back.

It spans approximately 40% of New Zealand’s total landmass, where terrestrial coverage is unavailable, as well as roughly 20 km offshore. KDDI followed in April 2025 with au Starlink Direct, Japan’s first D2D service, then added app data in August 2025, support for a limited set of bandwidth-light apps beyond texting, and the first D2D data service anywhere. Telstra launched Australia’s first satellite texting product in early June 2025. One NZ added app data, including WhatsApp voice calls, in February 2026. SoftBank and docomo launched in April 2026, making Japan the only market where three operators run live Starlink services. Globe became the latest in the sequence in June 2026 with the Philippines’ first commercial satellite-to-mobile permit from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

  Why are you fuckwits so dim? @eddys199 Australia was NOT debt-free in 2006. The Commonwealth had NET debt after selling our gold and major assets like Telstra. Australia still had significant state debt. The trouble with you morons is you read a headline, dive into a rabbit hole that even rabbits won't go in and come out all covered in old mouldy ****. Major contributors included: →Selling public assets (privatisations), most notably the government's remaining stake in Telstra, which raised tens of billions of dollars. →Strong economic growth during the mining boom, which boosted tax revenues. →A long period without major recessions or global crises until the GFC.   @DHughesy Hey mate. Learn some history. Howard also sold Telstra for about $100 billion, but the saving on interest paid is less than the dividend foregone….it was a net cost. The Future Fund was established as a special purpose vehicle to fund public service superannuation. 1/2

  @NikkiGemmell The government is stupid and didn't force the carriers to push the carrier bundles to older iPhones, so the ********* at Vodafail, Floptus and Telstra only pushed it to iOS 26.4 and later! Android devices got it fine though

  I really am angry the LNP rooted the NBN. Now I have to seriously consider Musk’s Starlink for my Internet especially since both Telstra & Optus have & are having issues.

  @Candour100 @blu_boys @Optus Yeah my husband had to switch to the Telstra network because of remote work. Boost was his choice.
