  @CrySlyFly @ialihasaan @Batman2242 Telstra were unwilling to structurally separate to allow the infrastructure side of the business build the new network. Telecom had plans to do fibre upgrades but got shelved when they became privatised.

  @Ausbobsmit She is totally ******* mad .Watching her today belittling the Telstra executives for the outage the other day and all from somebody who has never had to run a business.She has never employed anybody or had to pay wages .With technology you can always expect things to go wrong ffs

  BREAKING: Telstra is looking to Starlink as a backup solution for emergency communications. • Following its nationwide outage, Telstra says Starlink satellite messaging could help people in areas without mobile coverage. • Users would be able to text a friend or family member via Starlink, who could then call Australia's Triple Zero emergency service on their behalf. • Direct texting to Triple Zero is not yet available.   @twensor @FetchStep sadly its totally on form for telstra. remember when a small fire in their chatswood building took out the national SMS network. where i live telstra, nbn, optus and vodafone are all on a 4 hour battery backup, while essential energy schedules regular 8 hour outages.
