@TheRealPBarry Spoke to a young Filipino on Telstra’s help line on the weekend - asked him the same question. He said the old Marcos regime was a long time ago, younger people today don’t remember/weren’t born. “Bongbong is very popular.” Simple as that.

@maudenificent I'm with you regards Telstra. Absolutely no customer service no respect. I've been a fisherman for many years, working from Cairns Broome. Telstra is the ONLY service.

@Telstra It has never worked. Calling 101 tells me the person I'm calling is not available.

@Telstra No as I would be a new customer. Would this still be the best way?

@Telstra Why bother, the problem keeps coming back no matter what fix you implement.

@maudenificent Don't the small providers all use either the Optus or Telstra network? Which means that if you aren't in/near a city you probably need to use one that uses Telstra. Nothing wrong with that, but avoid signing up for one that uses Optus if there's no Optus coverage at your place.

@maudenificent 2. The same service except it is prepaid and I can pay by Paypal for only $40 p/month for BOTH phones ...( $50+ p/month less than Telstra ) with your unused data not used carried/rolled over into the next month... 🤔

@Frank61pc @maudenificent ****, that's sad. I have Optus for town life, I live 40klms out of Cairns and Optus better, but if I'm going bush or to sea, I have a cheap Telstra prepaid.

@Telstra absolutely ridiculous customer support service for the issue that is almost 10 days old now! The same issue needs to be repeated to every single agent and same resolution steps! Total waste of time with no resolution at all.

I'm annoyed about @Telstra. My prepaid doesn't have voicemail and I can't find a way to enable it. Website is broken and I can't even send them a message about it. I'm generally not too stupid to use a phone, but this eludes me. grrrrrrr
