  @twensor @FetchStep sadly its totally on form for telstra. remember when a small fire in their chatswood building took out the national SMS network. where i live telstra, nbn, optus and vodafone are all on a 4 hour battery backup, while essential energy schedules regular 8 hour outages.

  @mrwebber4 China just hacked the Aust 911 service (called 000) & the major Telco (Telstra) in retaliation for the *** negative comments regarding the Chinese missile launch. For the UK stealing a steel works I would think something stronger is in order. Timed in between ***. Y not a PM?

  @7NewsMelbourne But you still have to go with an Aus provider as they own the leases on the spectrum it uses and are the only ones to provide service in buildings and high density areas. Optus & Telstra already can provide sms via starlink with calls and data in a few years. So no - the major telcos are not under threat.

  @Michelle71966 SORRY about 'dad' and tech issues. I feel the same (mind you, I'm probably younger than dad), but we weren't brought up with devices. Also, companies take shortcuts to save cash. Updates and safeguards are avoided. In Australia, telco Telstra has failed us. Put lives at risk.

  @Telstra been trying to pay a bill for the last *TWO* hours. Can't sign in. Mobile app: "we can't display your account, try later". Deleted and reinstalled app, no change. Windows 11: "something went wrong". This is ridiculous.

  God old human error was the cause of the massive Telstra outage. Guess in a way that's reassuring that a preventable stuff up was the cause, rather than bad actors. For the cause of such a depilating telco outage.

  @NRL Telstra has ongoing glitches with it mobile data network and nobody gives a ****! Yeah! Possibly the phone network too but nobody answers calls these days.
