Note to @telstra @optus and anyone who runs an ISP, when you have to limit bandwidth of services it would be handy to redirect traffic a text only website with outage info - that’s what people want to know & it would take the load of phone lines too #justSaying #tassie

Telstra says there has been “massive damage” to a cable that connects Tasmania and the mainland caused by third party civil works. A team is currently “hauling and connecting” nearly one kilometre of fibre. Services should start to come back online this evening @abcnews

@Telstra We’ve spoken to 11 people so far, spent hours trying to resolve this and keep getting passed onto someone else who’ll then say ‘we’ll call you back’. Never happens. We’re a small business wasting too many hours on this.

@Monster_Dome We pretend, we have pigeons, called Telstra, Optus, NBN, TPG, and ADSL (who is old and slow, and needs to be retired). 5 pigeons between the 6 of us works OK most days given our island home is the size of a large NY pizza.
