@TimothyTTaylor Rather than resort towns, I wonder if semi-agricultural college towns with proximity to natural recreation might be superior. Kids make friends in school. Have generational family support. Strong social ties. Starlink handles broadband.

While @SpaceX did great this morning, it seems my Starlink order has once again shifted. Mind you I signed up when the beta opened within the first two hours of it. But still now looking more and more like April before I get Starlink. Meanwhile I'm stuck with @comcast's crap.

@RobbieLinklater @Caemyr @SpaceX *some* sort of engineering failure does not equal a kessler like event. Kessler syndrome happens very slowly, over decades or more. If 52 starlink satellites stop working, who cares? It won’t be a problem. You may be underestimating just how much space there is up there.

@Botterilldave @RachelNotley @heathersweetab Ordered Starlink when it was first announced, still waiting and likely will be for quite sometime yet as service date keeps being pushed back. I agree though Elon will likely solve it long before the government will.

@elonmusk Philippines had a typhoon, no internet, no electricity, no telecom service in Bohol and Siargao. They need a temporary starlink + solar panel base so they can reach out to families.

@TheSceptocrat @SpaceX @C_S_Skeptic At any time there will be no more than 20-25 thousand satellites from Starlink as per one of Koenigsmann's interviews. Currently they are getting way below 1% failure rate, so I doubt that 100-200 failed sats are going to be much of a problem... and this is kind of worst case.

@elonmusk Will starlink be worth my money in the long run? My provider just shafted me out of gig service and now you're the fastest with room to improve. Is it worth my money? I'm not wealthy so it's a chunk of change for me.

.Gov take all the wasted $$$$ used for bad isps internet for rural folks and give it StarLink and the underserved rural folks will have "fast" internet in 90 days. Then the skanky assed ISPs gouging the rural folks with slow, expensive and lousy internet can go out of business.

Satellite TV XM Radio GPS Satellite internet (Starband, very slooooow) I am down to 2 (GPS and satellite TV) now. Starlink is not something I need since I have gigabit fiber for $85 a month.
