@arif_LFC_ @GIVENALITY Apple has authorized resellers and also authorized service centres in tz, also has offices globally bar a few countries, starlink is a centrally run company. There is no comparison at all.Subscription prices and taxes are decided in the US and collected in the us.

@thfixer007 @GIVENALITY Thank you, now what do you do if your device that you use those apps on go 💥 boom? You run to the service centers, or authorised reasellers who will repair it for you right? So where do you take your starlink satellite hardware in a simmilar scenario?

@Nkololotz StarLink isn’t an MNO though? That’s my problem with all this. They don’t even have the infrastructure traditional MNOs have. StarLink is an example of a new kind of ISP that we have to formulate new legislation to regulate, not using archaic laws to dictate such kind of tech

@SuterColin @GlasnostGone Alternatively, the Ukrainian loss rate in combat use may be higher then Starlink terminal production, which are/were subsidized by the service fee. Or by integrating them in drones, they may become part of the weapon system, and thus under US export control rules

@chax255 @Nduli_10 I'm not a lawyer but my interpretation for this is any additional fees for tax, gov charges for usage will be on the user and not spacex/starlink. You pay to starlink they get their cash and the gov gets their charges, you don't pay you simply don't get the service

@ludovixk @GIVENALITY Personally, I don't support starlink and 5g tech in Tanzania. I think we need to stop relying on mobile data and improve the fiber connectivity in all the major cities so that we can have a solid non-wireless backbone to our internet infrastructure.

@RadioFreeTom Why is Elon's decision to no longer support starlink in UA combat zones his to make? It seems more like a national security that's significantly above his pay grade.

@RadioFreeTom @McFaul In Elon's defense, he needs this information so he can set new prices for his Starlink support

I'm on one of those other-worldly twilight-zone round-robin neverending customer service calls with @subaru_usa & their Starlink dept. Going on 56m & 4th person, no logic or common sense as part of their vocabulary or knowledge base!🤬😱 I need a party drink after this!🍹

@Nkololotz Starlink? Is there any customer service people actually there? Someone takes the money each month but no response to faults.

@rubikvn2100 @Yrouel86 @VirtuallyNathan If some countries do not accept Starlink service, you must separate the cables between the country, prevent the greed of the wealthy who monopolize the online job, as well as protect the cyber security

@GIVENALITY @Cousin_420 Starlink device is an automatic installation device. It does not need help for installation. It is as easy as plug n play. But the question is the after services incase of hardware malfunction.

@Nipashetz @Nnauye_Nape Wanataka office kwajili ya ku censor what they don't like. Wanataka wawe wanawaita na kuwaambia fungia link hii vinginevyo funga office zenu muondoke. Too bad world starlink architecture and owner don't work that way

The coverage: Millimeter waves can't pass through dense objects well so the solution is having as many 5G transmitters installed as possible with some estimates saying one for every 12 buildings. Pair that with Elon's starlink satelites beaming 5G at the earth from low orbit

Musk's Starlink is providing poor customer support on par with my cable provider. That's unexpected for a tech disruptor. Telcos are telcos, and the SLA mentality is contagious?

@AlvaP117 @HammerToe @XummWallet That's a lot of work for a problem that's already being solved. Most places have internet, those without are getting it soon enough through Starlink and locally things like Bluetooth and NFC solve this. Global FM coverage also doesn't exist.

@bladwa999 @GIVENALITY Also the answer to your question is how does Starlink provide this services to so many countries without fail including Ukraine which is a country at war? Over 50 countries have access to Starlink internet, wouldn't all these people have questioned the same?

@chax255 @Nduli_10 I guess you haven't understood what I said. Due to the nature of Spacex/Starlink there is no way they are going to have an office here. And for the case having issues with the service most things could be fixed by OTA updates. I guess u read a diff twit a replied to this

@rugilandavyi I'm talking about the current speed caps in Tanzania. The highest residential speeds in Dar is about 100mbps. While starlink offers more. Starlink has about 20-50ms latency which is just terrible compared to fiber

@kaponofor3 Well to be fair. If Elon were to tap into his Starlink network and watch the traffic he could give us real time updates. But that would be…normal.
