The missing tone of voice makes it harder though. I regard this "ooh the kiddies" as utterly despicable. The problem now is to find a party that won't do it.

calle (@callebtc) reportedPSA: purchased a phone number for @signalapp registration at @smspoolnet but the number got re-sold to a scammer else after 3 months. that person took over the signal account. super dangerous. terrible service guarantee by smspool and dangerous auth practice by signal . basically sim swapping without the social engineering. not your phone network, not your number (you can't own a mobile number).

B Invest HQ (@BInvestHQ) reported@signalapp If used fraudulently this software could be used to scan bank accounts and other financial and data critical ones like passwords. This is not the way to control the problem and should be controlled through the data centres etc.

Sascha Dämgen 🧐 (@sascha_daemgen) reported@signalapp Phone number + recovery PIN are phishable. FIDO2 hardware tokens are not. That's an architecture choice, not a "universal messaging problem." SimpleGoX ships FIDO2 in 048. No phone number to hijack in the first place. 🔐

This is not the way to control the problem and should be controlled through the data centres. It will not safeguard children it's another population control measure.

I’m saying for everyday people and mainstream devices being scanned for the huge problem of children trafficking. I’ve reported a few cases of such on this app even.

To ship it on the Apple App Store I'd need a §7 App Store additional permission for libsignal (you did this for an earlier library ). I've filed the details in a GitHub issue on the libsignal repo. If Telegram was hacked with closed-source server, it's up to them if they truly want to let the few million eyes to fix them. Only up to them, their sole choice.
