    @zentex @signalapp All security eventually comes down to some sort of secret. Passkeys, 2FA, etc. are great because they don't require you to share secrets like passwords do. They are nearly impossible to hack. But they still require some bit of knowledge that a social engineer can get from you

    @durov @durov the early OTF grants (2013-2016) for @signalapp are publicly documented. This might create a perception issue for its independence but doesn’t prove active/ongoing US gov backing or influence. Or you have other information?

    Why you should really think about using mainstream messengers like @signalapp Stop linking your mob number to your metadata. No phone number, no problem; @session_app and @SimpleXChat don’t have these issues.

    @Gold_Phishy @signalapp Unfortunately registration lock is not on by default. Probably because people have a hard time remembering their PIN, and Signal doesn't want you writing it down

    @Dinosn Other apps have a similar problem. Signal leaks chats through task switcher even when locked. I reported it ages ago; no response from @signalapp

    @signalapp @404mediaco Feels bigger than a bug more like an iOS notification design issue. Could’ve affected all E2EE apps, not just Signal. What about notifications already in iCloud backups?

    @phillipstewart @signalapp This is a standard setting on every messaging app, and Apple fixed the issue of caching them. It was never a security flaw with Signal.

    @callebtc @signalapp @smspoolnet even tho i dislike the titan, port your number to Google Voice for $10 then keep the free service. only problem is it registers as VoiP so doesn't always authenticate as a true phone number. but it verifies with Signal

    @AeldorThalion @Viber @signalapp Welp. The problem is that most of my contacts are either on fb (which I don't have anymore) or Viber. I can't just randomly tell everyone to go into signal or anything, that's usually the main issue, not whether *I* can switch. I can. My network doesn't switch🫠.

    Damn, I didn’t know this!!! @signalapp Might fully move from Telegram to Signal at this point. My main issue with TG has always been the scammy bots/games and the fact msg aren’t encrypted by default unless you manually use Secret Chat. Other than that, it’s honestly a great and complete app

    anyone else have the issue when i get a @xai post from a @signalapp chat.. it NEVER opens the link INSIDE X but loads it up in a web browser on the iphone? frustrating!!! links for youtube work.. so why not X?
