@lordofborg @signalapp If you never give the system your phone number than yes And deep in security guidelines, it says to use an anonymous proxy number, but this is an attack vector if you don't control the number..... Also if you ever connect the number to anything else, than you have a problem...

@miixms_ @fuckyeah_c @signalapp an on/off toggle would be a smart choice. They can disable it by default. if it is about privacy and security. sms verification is a real problem. Alot of people were asking for another way more private like an email verfication with usernames or what session app is doing.

@georgebernhard @signalapp Yes. though it's a problem of scale: if every user is responsible for their own keys, and there is no central repository of them, then they can't for example, lock up every user of Whatsapp in the whole nation.

@gkq4szjbwj @signalapp I believe DLT but I dont believe signal when they say they will not back down “safe” info…which means they will back down“dangerous” ones…which means they will and can back some kinds info they choose. no need to mention country btw, cuz it’s an universal problem to solve.
