@aromatouche just these past 3 weeks in Australia we've had major 'cyber attacks' data breaches on... 1. Telecommunications Retailer (Optus) 2. Healthcare (Medibank) 3. Energy Retailer (Energy Australia) and our government has drafted Digital ID legislation problem-reaction-solution

💧 Data Dot 🏠 Now with improved 5G - Jingeri (@petermclarty) reported
@JustSaying8888 @AlboMP If only the LNP hadn't enacted legislation which forced the Telcos to keep the data. Not to abrogate Optus, they had poor process for an open api to be there with that data behind it

kuke (@kuke) reported
@abcnews Yep, the focus is obviously on Optus et al, but bad legislation forces them to retain data unnecessarily.

@Asher_Wolf @pully8 @OAICgov I had a free month, the following day after it expired Optus was compromised. I wanted to cancel my account prior to the day before the free month ended. So I took my modem back, but was told I could only cancel the account if I bought the used modem. If I had a faulty modem YES!

@WonderfulDay01 @Anthony_Klan This really should destroy Optus as a company as to how incompetent they were with this, problem is most people don't understand, and see this as a cyber attack on Optus, rather than not having locks on the doors. Who knows what other data they've been leaking

Adam Gemmell (@raymond3020) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria
@Optus talk about impossible to contact you to find out why my nbn is not working. Happy to give my data away but not help.

Quack (@Crackerquacker) reported
@Optus the mobile phone tower that was supposedly upgraded to 5G had poor reception this morning. I couldn’t log back in to Pokémon go to use my daily incense, wasting most of it @NianticHelp help me out here too

@SenPaterson Clear breach of trust and she rightly stood down, but when LNP allowed Optus to have lax security and my data along with 10 million others leaked all you do is pass the buck despite ex-Optus Fletcher's role in that as Telco Minister. Really think we trust you on security James?
