@belindasmilne @StephenJonesMP No. Optus and Medibank proves that companies keeping and storing identity documents (along with bad security) is a bad idea. Totally different point and you’re confusing my suggestion for STRICTER identity laws with what companies have done in the past.

Medibank, optus now the smith Famlily, WTF ? We need to stop these hackers from stealing our information

Just touched down in Australia to find out @Optus has decided to deactivate my phone number within 48 hours of me returning. Yippee, today is gonna be fun I can feel it, anyone got any phone service recommendations? #Crisis

@ChristyDanFan @mannixbrian @DanielAndrewsMP He is more than a burnt out ex-musso. He is an ex Optus telephone operator from Melbourne. I guess he had to do something when his music career never took off.

@Buds_Oneski You're joking right. Optus butchered the coverage so badly last time the government had to take it off them mid tournament. SBS coverage also **** though. Pretty disgraceful that we can't have a decent coverage of the biggest sporting event in the world 2 times in a row now.

  • david_obrien David O'Brien (he/him) (@david_obrien) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

If there's one silver lining after the recent Optus and Medibank hacks here in AU, then it's the fact that orgs seem to finally be putting a focus onto their security from the top down. Today I had another great workshop with a new customer to assess their overall #cloudsecurity.

Why is @SBSOnDemand stream quality so poor? Optus sport copped it 4 years ago. It feels like I’m watching the live game through a computer using windows95.

  • corduroy Josh (Pants Parody) (@corduroy) reported

Now I am no longer an @Optus customer. It will cost me $400 to get away from them, but I will not trust a company that negligently gave away my data.

  • Dooley156Dooley Stephen Dooley (@Dooley156Dooley) reported

@rohan_connolly Optus next week will be as bad, $75 for a seat in the shade starting on a Wednesday in November...
