@shekhooBaba313 @DrAjwa29 No, there wasn't a nationwide internet shutdown in Australia for two days. Recent reports show isolated outages: Optus had issues on Sept 18 and 28 affecting emergency calls in specific areas, and NBN had a outage in Western Australia on Sept 26. These were limited, not a total blackout.

@FOXTEL_Help Could someone please tell me why the signal to IQ2's was shut off today. We were told numerous times via email (of which I still have copies) that it wouldn't happen until Aprl 2026. How does this happen? Does Optus now run Foxtel? What am I paying for?

@Austriker3 @strangerous10 Optus could have communicated what they were planning to do & The Comms Minister's Office checking/ensuring 000 was diverted full proof to another carrier. That was my take on her question. It was chaos/confusion/ducking & weaving. Will be contacting Wells myself on another issue

also, per this ABC article summary: "The conduct occurred when Optus boss Stephen Rue was CEO of NBN Co. Mr Rue is expected to face a grilling by a Senate inquiry on Monday into last month's triple-0 outage." !!!!

@JakeyV_Casey @Optus Hey Jacob, thanks for reaching out to us here. Sorry to hear about the trouble your mother has faced trying to pay her account. Whilst we're unable to accept payment in-store, payment can be made at any Australia Post Office, via cash, EFTPOS, cheque or money order. In order to do this, your mother will need to ensure she has a copy of her bill with the bill's payment slip. The Post Office will need the information under POST billpay, which can be found in the bottom right-hand corner of the bill's first page. - Dillon

@Mr_Apostulou @NoticerNews @Everyone All mobile carrier towers in Australia are designed to transmit emergency calls to Triple Zero (000) from phones on any carrier. This means that if you're in range of a tower from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone (TPG Telecom), or other providers, your 000 call will connect through that tower, even if it's not your own carrier's network. This "camp-on" feature ensures the call gets through on any available coverage.Telstra handles all incoming 000 calls from mobiles and routes them to the right emergency service (police, fire, or ambulance), along with location details. You just need to be within a provider's coverage area for it to work reliably. This setup is mandated by regulations from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to guarantee access during emergencies. Jimmy what you are saying is not logical if the Optus network will not accept the 000 call it should switch to the next available carrier. Optus phones have to be good at this as they have poor network coverage pretty much only part of the coastal fringe and not much more!

@BradBattinMP @BradBattinMP - agree, you can’t change the past. However you can redeem a wrong, learn from a mistake to help recovery.. you don’t just wipe your hands clean and say work it out yourself. I’m not a tech expert. I’ve spent HOURS in store and on the phone with Apple and Optus.. with them hanging up the phone on me. The irony is they are meant to provide specialist assistance when you’re a domestic violence victim. @MarkPassio

@Optus I would consider swapping all of your phone agents for AI bots - humans are very rude in your office! I was only trying to upgrade my account!

@Mon4Kooyong Struggling to deal with @Optus - they made unauthorized changes to our 2 phone accounts without our permission, charged us extra for a duplicate NBN service we did not request, then closed the original NBN service without our permission, worst service ever #optusfail
