@th36enses @joshgnosis Not much point leaving Optus if any future data breaches mean you're screwed anyway! I get SMS from Optus bcos my provider uses their network. Either my provider has access to Optus services, or Optus has access to me. Days after I signed, I got spam from my owner number.

@Optus Been hacked? Customer data stolen? MSM has details, no comment here? Question is: what is your policy for former customers data? No longer active account do you delete data? Or are prior customers at risk in this hack too?

Appalling response from @optus after a breach. I didn't hear **** about the breach except through social media. I don't even know if my prepaid account is implicated in this breach, but given all the facts, it's more than likely.

@AndrewBGreene @Optus @ASDGovAu So I couldn’t get a status update for NBN outage in my area without going through a full ID process that I thought was overboard because all I wanted to know was when will the service be restarted! No chance till I confirmed code to email DOB,account number. 1/2

@SpottyBalfour @Optus @Qantas What ever protections they had failed. IMO most big Co's regard data theft of customers as an acceptable risk. Bad PR for a little while seems to be the only consequence.
