@James_M_South @Optus If you've only been notified today, in theory that means your exposure was minimal... It's a gigantic ****-show all round.

  • amitlu89 Ross (@amitlu89) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews No, none initiated by Optus. I have called their support line and spoke with lower management. Learnt some interesting details of Optus' response which don't appear to be public record.

  • Annette86972326 Minister for Teas (@Annette86972326) reported

@ScammerPayback Oz may need your help P, Optus has inadvertantly allowed an attack on their servers and released our personal details.

  • amitlu89 Ross (@amitlu89) reported

@Live_Animation_ @mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews That's very interesting. Optus support staff didn't give me the option of directing MFA to email when I was attempting to secure my account. They mentioned Mastercard by ID for certain purchases but that requires a face photo. With their track record, probably best avoided.

  • tezzr44 Tezzr44 (@tezzr44) reported

@Kay1Denise @favfavalore Heard someone who 5 years ago was ex customer of Optus . They’ve been contacted re the hack and been told they lost their data. WTAF is Optus keeping ex customer data for from 5 years ago

  • DummyTelegraph The Dummy Telegraph (@DummyTelegraph) reported

To relieving the overwhelming disappointment Aussies are feeling with Optus, CEO Karen Sunta-Fires promises the company will issue five letters, first being O, then P, the T, them U and S apologising for the slow response the hacking breach.

  • mushroompanda Michael Wu (@mushroompanda) reported

@SeaforthBen It's amazing that they're keeping data on people that don't even remember being an Optus customer.

  • e_richardson_ Elaine Richardson (@e_richardson_) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews What is Optus actually doing? Are they going to reimburse everyone for the time they have had to take off work to arrange another license, go to the police to report it, contact their bank & Medicare & spending hours on the phone dealing with this crap.

  • maximumcuddles Tony Shalhoub Memes 🇫🇮 (@maximumcuddles) reported

@TristanAR_ I've thought about this briefly and I'm not sure the federal government has the general capacity or IT expertise to fix Optus or even run Optus to the current standard that Optus do.

  • Serefus Serefus (@Serefus) reported

As an Optus customer affected by their data breach , a visit to their office in Coffs Central was a fail, as they were shut. Sign in windows said no staff.
