  • Thefinnigans Finnigans 💉💉💉💉💉天有道地有道人无道 (@Thefinnigans) reported

If Optus left its "test network" open, then it wasn't a "hack". In the olden days, we in the IT Security called it a giant SNAFU

  • TheCurbAU Andrew F - AACTA Voting Open Soon (@TheCurbAU) reported

I just want to say on behalf of myself and all the eventual fake versions of me that'll pop up down the line: Don't ever use @Optus. They're absolutely borked.

  • CanningTobias Tobias Canning (@CanningTobias) reported

Lol @Optus still haven’t received any emails what so ever from you about the data breach as I’m sure many other customers haven’t either. Pretty pathetic form what’s meant to be a top notch service provider! 👀

@SenSHenderson @AlboMP Ok Sarah, what tougher laws do you want? Also, you know with the speed of technology that as soon as a law is passed there’s a new way to hack, right? I’m an Optus customer and I appreciate just how hard cyber security is. What new laws exactly do you think will fix this?

  • kity_katz Lady Raven (@kity_katz) reported

@RoyceRk2 @pharnzwurth The Optus 133 937 customer service number has a recorded message saying they'll be 'reaching out' to customers whose data has been subject to unauthorised access. While we wait, it would be good to know how long Optus keeps former customers' data. 1-2 years? Longer?

  • _TimMcMahon Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported

Watching the Optus breach unfold. Annoyed that vulnerability reports that I've submitted to other organisations for similar issues haven't been resolved. It's just a matter of when, not if. Some orgs don't even have a security team but they're trusted with financial details.

  • Urchin_LMS citizen xx (au) (@Urchin_LMS) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk @arielbogle Ransomware typically encrypts the DB & locks the owner out until they fix the problem (or pay the ransom) This looks to be a breach, data stolen But then who now trusts Optus to actually tell the truth

  • kochie Robert Koch (@kochie) reported

@hardenuppete @Optus My point is that 24 hours after an alleged incident is nowhere near enough time for an organization to fully understand what happened. While it's probable that Optus has found the smoking gun it's not wise to jump to conclusions.

  • VicBStard Vic B'Stard (@VicBStard) reported

The @optus thing proves that this online everything and cashless whatnot doesn't work. It's all ****** really.

  • danegirl67 Annette M Jorgensen🐀💉💉💉💉 (@danegirl67) reported

@SenSHenderson @AlboMP It appears Optus, with YOUR golden girl Gladys on board, has sunk to the competency level of the LNP...they left a test network open to the public and allowed personal details to be stolen!!! Please explain how this is Albo's fault???
