    The worst part of this Optus breach, is that impacted Customers have a direct, PAID, relationship with them and the strategy on communications is via the media than directly with their customers.

    @Zadimum63 @hughriminton I canceled my optus account years ago after being lied to face to face in a store. Still worried they kept my data, & allowed it to be hacked, but I got no contact. For you, don't forget another telco can take over your number if optus refuse to help.

    ENDING CAVEAT: We don’t know if this is what happened at Optus, but generally is a security issue that has cause problems in the past. Only Optus has the full story on this, and hopefully we will learn it soon.

    @hughriminton Can't get through on phones. DM them, was told to go to 24/7 chat. Waited 4.5 hours then lost connection & had to start again 2.5 hours wait then lost connection. @optus will be moving to another service.

    @SusanLa69642683 @MFWitches @Optus That us too. Left them 5+ yrs ago because they were the worst phone co I've ever dealt with now find out my partners details have been compromised.

    @janine_hendry @hughriminton We left Optus in 2006 - trying to get someone anyone in Optus to cancel our account was like a comedy skit - good luck Janine & PS during the black summer fires Telstra was the only carrier still working

    @notbelinda I thought the same but I saw someone say they contacted Optus who told them an email was sent to them on 24/9 and they never received it

    @cambabs @Optus After opening an account, I have never been asked to provide license or passport numbers as a form of ID when making an enquiry with my phone company or my bank. It's always Full Name, Address, Phone, DOB.

    If these actions merely get up (ie before trials are done), @asicmedia must seriously consider going after the Optus Board. I say that because, even if the class actions are settled/decided in favour of Optus, the reputational damage already done would be more than terrible.
