    @ShaunFerrisOz @Optus I suspected @Optus contact centre would be doing this so haven’t bothered with them. It’s unbelievably appalling that they’re being deliberately generic and obtuse. This beggars belief. Heads should roll for this shocking level of support alone. Rosmarin failing at every turn.

    @DArtagnan71 @smithmeyerjen @OptusEnterprise I helped an aged neighbour with Optus and their atrocious customer service about 4 years ago. Am I going to have to sit there with her and find out if she's been breeched?

    I love how @optus send me a gushing email describing me as a ‘victim’ of their cyberattack exposing all my details as a former customer. Firstly why were you holding onto my details 3 years after I gave you the heave for a lousy product and 2nd, why is it no reply email?

    @10NewsFirstAdl Problem, reaction, solution. Expect new legislation designed to "solve" the problem and take away more freedom. Real solution, class action against Optus for damages, due to security ineptitude. Sue banks and government for making us use insecure devices.

    @CooperCodes @sassycarrie @Optus Just read the email. They claim to have shut it down immediately upon finding the breach. This screams either a lie or terrible cyber sec. Either way I'm glad I moved

    @peter_0713 That would be kinda funny but mainly horrific because I’m a current Telstra customer (although an hour ago got the “your data has been compromised” email from Optus as a previous customer… so looks like I’d be screwed either way)

    @THE_Russell @Optus If this is true (still speculation), it is damning for Optus. Multiple steps they could have taken to mitigate risk - e.g. requiring authentication on the API, not using production data in test, or at a minimum removing PII. Did no one say “hang on, this doesn’t feel right”?
