I've just seen a friend who has never had an Optus account received the email telling them their data got compromised. Has this happened to anyone else, or is this an isolated mistake? What data did Optus have exposed if it's not only their own customers? #OptusDataBreach

@nickschadegg @clothedvillainy Except for the whole demanding money from the customers coz Optus didn’t pay the ransom, right? That part sucks.

@GayCarBoys @VictorDominello See! I knew it! Service NSW advised me this morning, the best they can do is replacing the card number not the license number which is pointless. They informed @TransportforNSW said NO replacing license number for compromised Optus customers

@adam_turner @jendudley Technically it wasnt hacking, someone used an alternate URL with no auth requirements on it It should be called the Optus data handover It's also the state of IT today, even when you report security holes they don't fix them, most of them don't understand what you're telling them
