Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • filmackay Fil Mackay (@filmackay) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk The best way to explain this is to say that Optus did the digital equivalent of putting all the (printed) customer data in a dumpster, that someone else found. It was a mistake, and the sophistication of this 'attack' is so low it hardly qualifies..

  • bejopil Bejo (@bejopil) reported

Very excited to have received the hacking email from Optus. I am not an Optus customer.

  • MisterSiegfried Geoffrey Constable (@MisterSiegfried) reported

@emmaandollie @DrKate_Miller @Optus Yes, the Optus customer interface is terrible, but I’d always managed to find out what I needed without using it much.

  • jarjargabor Jar Jar Gabor (@jarjargabor) reported

The short version of the previous thread is I don't know why my details are in the Optus breach when I haven't been a customer between 2017 and now. #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach

  • Acting_Alone Acting Alone (@Acting_Alone) reported

@Optus an inside source tells me Optus still don't really know how to fix the issue of the stolen ID, given the amount and particularly sensitive nature data taken. Is that why customers are still in the dark about what Optus are doing to assist them? #Optus #OptusHack

  • jarjargabor Jar Jar Gabor (@jarjargabor) reported

So Optus are either not being factual about how long they're keeping customer information for, because I haven't been a customer in the last 6 years... or....

  • Neopseudo 💧Sociable Socialist aka Stephen ✊🏿😷 (@Neopseudo) reported

@loz_obi @Jeremy_Kirk @OAICgov I’m not defending them however there’s a lot of ppl out there getting multiple smartphones, tablets etc delivered every year or so Fraud is a huge problem so they now demand photo ID that has to be matched Optus should be penalised big time for such a cockup, no excuse for this

  • VaperNt 🇦🇺 Northern Territory Seniors for THR (@VaperNt) reported

@MorawetzTom Passwords are not the major issue. You personal details such as Name Address Drivers licence ID Passport ID Birth date Etc are the serious issue for every @optus account holder.

  • ReeDiamond2 Ree Diamond (@ReeDiamond2) reported

@Marilynrules1 @abcnews yep ... they were .. :( ... it will be a HUGE problem for the country if name, birth, Drivers licences, were taken. Imagine hackers taking out loans in your name because they could prove your details ..! I wouldn't be surprised if Optus isn't getting ready for a class suit ...

  • aparachick Aparachick😷 (@aparachick) reported

@Optus @Stanleysmum1 From what I hear from the ones already notified, it’s only telling you your details are at risk. NO details of any support.
