@JamesonCoPR @saltyskin_ @Optus Wouldn’t it be far simpler for the company to re-issue new phone numbers to their customers? To be honest, it’s the only thing within their control and might have the advantage of killing part of the hackers business model. Just a thought.

@xsvetac @Optus It is many levels of bull ****. The only thing that they have said I can do is have a pin on the account so my phone number can’t be transferred. I had to ask ffs. Will be asking that they pay ongoing for credit alerts,

@rosaliagordon @JulsTracy @ianbfarquhar Keeping passport details seems like a data gathering function rather than security. What possible reason for a telecom company . Pretty sure Telstra didn’t require passport ID to set up our account or iINET. WTF Optus !

@SquizzSTK Jane might be right that government should act. I would expect Jane to support heavy fines and compensation to victims by Optus. Optus may have well just published their (our) records on their home page. Serious breach of privacy laws.

Terrible customer service, consistent delays in doing rudimentary jobs, yet not a moment's delay if bills are a fraction late in payment and now a beach of our data due to a stupid test program gone live. @Optus really are the worst provider in this country.

@Optus @RunnerSA18 Could i get an answer please? Why do you retain old customer info? What do you retain? Seems GLARiNGLY obvious that people should have more rights over their data.

@Optus you guys totally downplay the severity and accountability you have over the breach of our data. What measures have you put in place to stop somebody using my info from doing illegal sim swap and doing more damage to me ?
