@TheNRLSHADOW Optus is an Australian issue mostly, Wikileaks America. Not sure there is any relevance in the comparison?

@Optus @ACurrentAffair9 I’m in Qld. TMR are refusing to change my drivers license number until I’m already a victim of fraud or identity theft and have suffered financial damage. And you @kbrspace called it a sophisticated attack. It was open to the internet not sophisticated!!

@Jeremy_Kirk Why not pay the amount to protect customer data - call it a bug bounty. Or is Optus customers data not worth $1m?

@zinifax @9NewsMelb I have a background in IT. I an tell you that Optus' public statements thus far are purely designed to mitigate future fines & legal actions. They allowed their entire customer database, including sensitive info, to be publicly accessible, with NO encryption or security.

They want to lock up Julian Assange for Wiki leaks, yet Optus fail the customer badly and won’t pay up, exposing peoples identities is not their bottom dollar.

@Goldy1970 If you want to find out the truth about such an incident, ask the tea lady. The CEO and Gladys have both proved themselves to be, ahem, unreliable witnesses. Here's the question that WILL eventually be asked in a class action - How does Optus measure up to GDPR rules? (cont)

@Donovan_Fergie @joshgnosis @Optus Compare this Isentia hacking incident, CEO - white male never apologised. I give credit to her to come out and take responsibility of failure. She seems to be not supported by right information. Again that’s also her failure.

@newscomauHQ Happy that I’ve never been an Optus customer. Records simply accessed via an open API? If so then this is really bad…
