  • debritz Brett Debritz (@debritz) reported

I'm an Optus customer and I don't want a new passport. It was enough hassle getting the one I have. And, as I've noted before, everywhere I've travelled, hotel staff and foreign governments have taken photocopies of my actual passport -- more useful to fraudsters than a number.

  • MiguelDSouza Miguel D'Souza (@MiguelDSouza) reported

Here's a quote from their letter - what was lost?: "name, date of birth, email, phone number and/or address associated with your former account. No ID document numbers or details have been affected." In other words, only customer details, no Optus-created material was lost.

  • scottjla Scott (@scottjla) reported

@bentsolutionsau @ripcripz @jasonjordan The problem is that it's a way Optus can make out it was an attack on them, when it's more comparable to a "break and entry" through an open door

  • miss_neko_nadi ꕥNekoꕥ (@miss_neko_nadi) reported

@AnnastaciaMP Just called @TMRQld the recording said you have to visit a service center with the email your received from @Optus for proof.

  • serina98010207 serina (@serina98010207) reported

@patrickkeneally Yep I’m a former customer —- months of trying to get a single person to follow through with my problems. In the end took the modem back to the store … and despite being told by Optus to do so, stores twice refused to accept the modem. I’m not surprised there was a hack.

  • justbrowsing4no just looking (@justbrowsing4no) reported

@SenPaterson @Birmo WTF are you talking about? This is not the government’s fault. It’s not even the hacker’s fault. This is all in Optus and they should pay any and all remunerations. Did you think this ‘principled stance’ through? You need better advisers

  • AngelaMBarra Angela Barra (@AngelaMBarra) reported

@Optus I don't have the words to express how frustrated & alarmed we are. From your apathetic responses when I was injured in the Feb floods (I have the screenshots), fetch & now data breach. Your whole business model is seemingly: 'New ways to screw over your customer ?'

  • SpywareSpeaks Spyware Daily (@SpywareSpeaks) reported

FBI Helping Australian Authorities Investigate Massive Optus Data Breach: Reports. Initial reports suggest a basic security error allowed the attacker to access the company's live customer database via an unauthenticated API. #SpywareSpeaks

  • twasink Robert Watkins (@twasink) reported

@melalouise The end of a string of very poor decisions - most of them by Optus.

  • JohnnyKouros We just saved Australia (@JohnnyKouros) reported

@EmergencyBK I feel like screaming. How do these septic people get jobs? I mean FFS how stupid are Optus execs? Optus is now well and truly on the **** list.
