re #OptusHack reforms, both these things can be true: 1. government regulation meant that Optus is keeping more data than is necessary to track crime. 2. Optus hoarded data beyond what was required; data hyper-collection should be cracked down on or disincentivised

As a customer effected by the Optus breach, I want everything stolen from me changed. Licence, Medicare and passport, and I ain’t paying a cent. Shouldn’t even be a discussion ffs

@tazgecko @ownedbyhoundies @hughriminton I have been with them for years. Still no contact, no reassurance, no advice. Just ignorant silence. Day after day. Funny, when my internet connection went down for 5 minutes 2 days ago Optus emailed promptly offering help that was by then not needed. What are they good for?

  • prolax Jordan (@prolax) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk have you heard anything re: Optus prepaid customers? I used to be on Optus as a prepaid customer, no email was needed, but gave passport # for verification. I have not heard a peep from Optus as they don't have my email, and I can't log in as I'm no longer with Optus. Crazy.

  • strangerous10 stranger (@strangerous10) reported

Stephen Jones tells Optus to fix their ****: “This is Optus’ mistake, this is Optus’ stuff up.” “There’s a lot of things that Optus should have done better & should have done quicker.” Demands Optus: “Do the right thing by their customers” & compensate them appropriately.

The @MarkMcGowanMP cheap and sordid decision to sell Perth Stadium's naming rights to @Optus is looking even more terrible now. The contract should be annulled at Optus' expense and the original PERTH name restored #wapol

@LeppardAnthony @AnnastaciaMP @TMRQld You can check the data yourself Optus still hasn’t closed the API, login to your account and you can access all information Optus has stored in beautiful plain text Date of birth wasn’t captured from what I can see as it’s salted (encrypted) Unfortunately accountability is key

  • bmcevoy Ben McEvoy (@bmcevoy) reported

@SamTrevor380 @domknight @Optus They're required by law to store for up to 6 years after you stop being a customer, in the name of "national security"

  • dwightwalker Dwight Walker (@dwightwalker) reported
