@urbanfoodfarmer @Jeremy_Kirk I haven’t been a customer for almost 2 years now but received the email from Optus. Surely there must be a class action possible for those whose data has been compromised who aren’t even current Optus customers? @marquelawyers

  • FredSpider Fred the mist🌫 (@FredSpider) reported

@TooheyMatthew @Optus 🙏🏼 I’ve had no email yet. My provider uses the Optus network. 👍🏼customer service to date. My phone calls to them have been professionally handled, although it’s been a couple of years since my last enquiry. What a relief it was to bin Telstra after years of billing nightmares.

  • TooheyMatthew Matthew Toohey (@TooheyMatthew) reported

@FredSpider That sounds like the right adverb to describe their approach. The FAQs on their website aren't really clear about whether customers of other ISPs who use the Optus network are affected by the #OptusDataBreach. Maybe someone at @Optus comms could give greater clarity on that.

  • benraue Ben Raue (@benraue) reported

I've been meaning for a while to downgrade my mobile plan since I barely use any of my GBs. The @Optus website tells me to message them, but the messaging app doesn't work. I guess they've got a bit on?

  • MaddyWithington Madeleine Withington (@MaddyWithington) reported

A friend of mine just got the Optus email. She signed up at 14, is not a current customer. So why, after over 6 years, is her data still held by Optus?

  • PhilipA29893172 Philip Atkinson (@PhilipA29893172) reported

@SuDharmapala There's one for Optus as well, which has been around a while (surprise!) called "Optus Sucks".

  • ajobbins Adam Jobbins (@ajobbins) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@seemsforever Yeah, I've been the information risk owner of large, externally facing systems like this and it's the nightmare situation. But reading how the hack was done, it's crazy that Optus didn't know about this vulnerability, or if they did and didn't fix it....😬

  • StormyAUS_ StormyAUS (@StormyAUS_) reported

@HYP3RSTRIKE So what now? I feel like I used my passport to prove my identity initially. Is Optus going to pay the fee to issue me a new one?

  • LisaHay92756018 Lisa Hayes (@LisaHay92756018) reported

@recneps51 @Optus I found the Telecommunications Ombudsman very effective when I had problems with Telstra which they just didn't fix. One call to the TO and problem fixed in a day. Give them a try.

  • GosoraProject Gosora Project (@GosoraProject) reported

My goodness, Optus had poor security.
