Ray Finkle (@itsrayfinkle) reportedAusAlert cost ~$130 million to rollout. A 13x increase from the $10m initial budget. Here are the known costs and estimates: $10m Initial Planning Taskforce $60-70m Carrier access tolls (Telstra, Optus, TPG) $30m Security architecture & hardening $20-25m Foreign hardware + offshore managed services $5-10m Public awareness, testing & administration Want to know how each allocation is spent? Too bad. Contractors and government use "Commercial-in-Confidence" clauses to keep specific commercial margins and costs hidden from the public eye. A 1300% blowout with no accountability.

Hugh_96 (@Hugh_96) reported@susanmandrews RA seems to be taking quite a unique approach to the women’s rugby program. We have all been through it. Unless it is a significant issue which requires an apology eg Optus/Telstra outages, just put out a holding statement & some spin. RA is lucky not much media interest in rugby

Theofatcat (@Theofatcat) reportedI’m wondering if Telstra Optus etc will cope on Monday 27th when all the emergency services etc are planned to be delivered to phones

Satoshi Goy (@satoshigoy) reported@Optus Thanks, but that doesn’t address what actually happened. I was in the emergency broadcast area with a compatible device. There was no Optus coverage, but there was coverage from another network. Despite that, I never received the AusAlert. If emergency alerts can’t be delivered when your carrier is unavailable, even though another network is in range, that’s a significant issue. In an emergency, people shouldn’t miss life-saving warnings because of which carrier they’re with. Can you clarify whether AusAlerts are expected to be delivered in this scenario, or is this a limitation of the current system?

Dani Kent 🐉 (@DragonsHearthAu) reported@JoGu1802 It was because Optus no longer supported the iPhone 5 on its app that I upgraded. Because it’s DAMN hard to use the app to prepay for your phone when the app doesn’t… support your phone…

J Labs (@jnj_pro) reported@Optus Is it possible to have more visibility to how @Optus 'improve' its user experience, as a 10+ year user, I'm feeling the quality of your service and apps is downgrading overtime, and there is no sign of going up.

Susanna De Bari (@Bari1De) reported@blu_boys @Optus My email provider put their cost up by 50%. I submitted a complaint to the Ombudsman and Consumer Protection. Best they could suggest is to change providers. Have they even tried changing an email address?

Titch Ashen (@titchashen) reportedWe need the telco to learn #auspol but as an Optus customer .who has seen it before, what happens hear? Zero cash for us, but the Optus bill goes up to cover this pay out to lawyers and a few who could afford them. Same as the mob who are suing Coles. Pays lawyers and a few and we all pay the price in the new prices, not Optus or Coles

Clayton Oliver sympathiser (@dlesk18) reported@rossivision Optus Stadium is elite but getting in and out of it sucks.
