@natecochrane @Optus @ClareONeilMP Surely ID verification services can provide a token to Telco etc that serves as proof that a check was done on the customer and all was good? That would serve as the "relevant record" etc for identity check rules.

@peggymel2001 The **** storm has only just started. So is Optus going to compensate people for the extra work involved in a persons time fixing up new ID? States will pay for new D Lic, but folks have to pay 1st and then put in a claim. FFS 🤦 I hope many Optus customers vote with their feet.

@chomm3rs @SamLeightonDore @Optus Am sure it's a strategy. Hours of phone watching, I'd see "typing" dots, stopping as soon as I touch the screen. Long time delay, then it repeats. Seem to try to jag a time you're away to get in the "Hi, let me help you"/"Haven't heard from you in a while, I'm closing this" pair.

@ChalkerPhillip Not in the breach... but the handling of the crisis is from the LNP playbook. Deny. Gaslight (not our error, we were hacked by super skilled hacker). Re-direct - no optus passwords were taken. Announcements that mean nothing. Poor communication to its people & Then silence.

@redruby17 @ClareONeilMP @Optus Yes!!! I'm a current customer but received an email stating "as a former Optus customer"... So... Does that mean my current details are actually ok?
