  @SSzczepkow87759 @OneNewsAu There will be four. The big three + Starlink. Starlink fills in the gaps is coverage with low orbit satellite connectivity the others don’t have. But I hope they ’ll have a plan that’s doesn’t include Optus. They already have a deal with Telstra who sellers Starlink cheaper and slower (bad for Starlink brand). Assuming the same hustle will occur with Optus. Competition is always good - but not when the competition works together..

  @FranMooMoo This is not Starlink "beating" Optus. Instead, Starlink is providing the satellite infrastructure that allows Optus to offer a more comprehensive service to its customers, particularly those in remote areas who have historically been underserved by traditional mobile networks.

  @Starlink And while Optus and Vodafone service this area - proving how much Telstra really sucks - they both lose signal only several kilometers further out of the CBD, meaning that they also suck. These are the only three networks here. All other carriers buy access from these three.

  Update 2: Helped to log into messaging (good). Now I discover the complaint is filed under 'a credit default' - wtf! Called to review plan and get new phone. I'm back to the person that said 'no' this morning. Would be funny if it wasn't so utterly infuriating...@Optus

  @OneNewsAu optus announced the partnership with starlink on July 12 2023 and telstra announced it on July 3rd 2023, Telstra starlink messaging started June 3 2025 optus? well nothing. "covers blackspots telstra never will" that might make sense if telstra also didn't get starlink messaging

  @heidimur In WA Transporth uses Fibre that runs thought every station and Private Wireless (LTE/4.9G): Transperth doesn't use Telstra or Optus for train-to-ground data. They built a custom, secure wireless network with 160+ dedicated radio masts along the tracks using licensed spectrum.

  So we have another outage impacting 000 calls in Australia, this time by Telstra. This has already happened with Optus twice if I recall. Enough is enough. Renationalise Telstra and Optus, and give them all the funding needed to maintain, develop and expand our telecommunications infrastructure across Australia in the interests of the people rather than private and foreign shareholders. #auspol

  @matt_barrie @van00sa And Optus went down right after Albanese visited Beijing in July last year.
