The CEO was Rachael Falk. She led the independent review into the Optus and Medibank cyber breaches. She was appointed by the Minister for Home Affairs to the Expert Advisory Board for Australia’s 2023-2030 Cyber Security Strategy. In February 2025, Falk left the CSCRC to become a partner at Ashurst Risk Advisory—a return to the firm where she had worked as a lawyer in 1998. The CSCRC was not just a research centre. It was a revolving door—a place where a connected insider could build a network, then cash in.

  @MissIgraine I’m with Amaysim, so Optus towers. Was trying to call Mum & she tried to call me but neither of us could get through. Texts were super super slow

  Trains down in perth so people have to walk? My two times in optus and going to perth thats ridiculous. Having a stadium you can only access by public transport...surely you'd make sure the ******* trains are working #AFLFreoCrows

  @noplaceforsheep We were with Optus for over 15 years. Then they decided that they were pulling out of our area. Bad luck to us. Still after another 15 years trying to sort out random accounts. Baaaaaaaastards.

  @strangebaaza @RjeyTech Well, I beg to differ. My previous fold 4, S22 ultra, fold 6, the current fold 7 and s26 ultra all had or have green line screen issues while my iPhone 12 pro, iPhone 14 pro max and 16 pro max still going strong, no issues whatsoever. All cost pretty much the same but Samsung quality is subpar, and service is shite. I still ordered the fold 8 as currently it is available for $0 via Optus Harvey Norman Australia. Bet you, it will also likely have this screen issue. No matter what Samsung does, somehow manages to create overpriced paperweights.

  @karavas_alex @BrianJArbuckle 50k of intense support at Optus which configuration isn't too dissimilar to MCG. Freo kicked 100+ in the 2 games at the G. Doesn't phase them mentally. Sat was a rare shootout. A GF doesn't have that level of intense support - 100k v 50k doesn't make a diff.

  @Candour100 @blu_boys @Optus Yeah my husband had to switch to the Telstra network because of remote work. Boost was his choice.

  Origin Energy just had 900,000 customers' data breached, joining Optus, Medibank, Qantas and DP World. We treat each as a one-off. A pattern this long stops being bad luck and starts being the cost of collecting data you can't protect. #CyberSecurity #DataBreach
