-
AussieGamer (@AussieGamr) reportedGreat so a massive telco gets hacked, data stolen and the government’s response is… give the telco’s customer data to third parties. Optus customers should mount a class action.
-
Ms Smudge🐜🇦🇺 (@smudge_green) reported@kbrspace as the CEO of Optus, I hope you're feeling very ashamed right now.We Optus customers have not only been let down & left vulnerable by Optus negligence but now you are not even giving us the support you promised.I hope some gun legal firm is setting up a class action.

SHRIMPMONEYCAPITAL (@SHRIMPMONEYCAP) reportedSo what happened? "[It's] still under investigation. However, this breach, like most, appears to come down to human error," an Optus insider told the ABC. They apparently opened up their customer identity database to other systems via API, then failed to secure it.
-
Sam Rye (@sam__rye) reported@_sarahbarns @Optus Legally it has to be kept for 6 years, but that obviously doesn’t cover your case. The likelihood is it’s such a pervasive breach and their security protocols are so bad they simply don’t know and have emailed everyone who *could* have been compromised…
-
SHRIMPMONEYCAPITAL (@SHRIMPMONEYCAP) reportedA couple of days ago news broke that Australia’s second biggest telco #optus exposed the private details of over 9.8m of its current and past customers publicly #OptusHack According to official PR data included in the hack was customer: - Names - Addresses - Dates of birth
-
Jamieson Vincenti O'Reilly (@onejvo) reported(cust_num) appears to be the Optus Customer Number, (account_num) appears to the Optus Account Number, and (sub_id) the Optus Subscription ID
-
Peter Smerdon (@psmerdon) reported@trevorlong Commiserations. As a former Optus customer myself I ask - why do companies retain PI info on *former* customers? There should be laws about that sort of stuff.
-
Queenager (@oneda_woman) reportedHey @Optus... After 16 yrs with you, you're fncking dead to me. The harm you've done is to create monumental anxiety around the lack of power us victims have over our IDENTITY (data) being stolen. All because we entrusted you with this sensitive info in order to get a service. 🖕

MyOpinion (@MyOpini53400184) reported@Jeremy_Kirk In the 90's I set up an ISP. I handled the business side and had bright young people to do the computer/software bit. They set it up so every single client had Superuser access! Brilliant. I wonder if the same idiot works/worked at Optus?

Aust SARS2: 43,820 cases (last week). 220 dead. (@WonderfulDay01) reported@Jeremy_Kirk I thinking if Optus was this stupid what about our other major corporations. I am sure the hacker might be on a roll now.
