@YoiksAndAway @Optus @Telstra Absolutely. Management that place personal greed above service should not be in service industries, and those who endanger lives for personal gain should not be at liberty.

@AlanBixter Particularly after @Optus emergency access fuckups, there's no excuse for not having robust redundancies & fail safes @Telstra are likely more focussed on cost-cutting & leveraging unwanted, untested AI to boost management bonuses CEOs should face jail time for such negligence

Wondering whether the Telstra CEO Vicky Brady will break down and cry when she fronts up to the media about the system outage, just like the Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin did, following the system outage in 2022?

@burkylie12 Well done Telstra for the massive Outage ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ Telstra supporting the Crusification of Optus for the same. It's certainly a clear display for the idiots that want a Cashless ๐Ÿ’ธ Society.

@BoxnDiceExp How the hell does VLine not have a redundancy with Optus or another network in this scenario... seriously what morons do they have working there?

@heidimur This isnโ€™t just about Telstra. We saw similar issues with Optus. If our emergency communications and critical infrastructure are meant to be resilient, why do single network outages continue to have such widespread impacts? Itโ€™s time to review whether our redundancy is truly independent, or whether weโ€™re relying on backups that share the same points of failure.

@Birdsperch Clearly no contingency for terrestrial fail [all eggs in one basket] even with satellite backup downlink distribution relies on terrestrial bearers (circuits), Even Optus with satellite support incorporates terrestrial distribution -Contingency planning is key & costs money

@Kate3015 Remember 18 Sept 2025 when Optus had a 000 outage because no one though to make some test calls to ensure the service was working after an upgrade? Doing a test is basic common sense.
