  • AlexHolderDev Alex Holder (@AlexHolderDev) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk I can generate data from the Optus customer-logged-in endpoint and see that converting my phone number to SHA-256 matches the "hashedPhone" value. Same for the unlucky customer records leaked so far. And worse still: the actual ID doc values weren't hashed at all.

  • RationalPeter 💡Rational Peter 🌏 (@RationalPeter) reported

@redruby17 @Optus As a customer I am concerned my mobile number could be ported

  • AlanJohnCorry Alan 'I write Horror because I can' Corry (@AlanJohnCorry) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk I love that everyone is angry at Optus for being hacked, but not at the complete ******* who stole our information and is extorting a company with it. I hope they find this person, they're exposed and their life is ruined.

  • corruptagenda David, ICAC Now ✳️✳️✳️✳️ (@corruptagenda) reported

@optus and their call centres prove that they don’t provide customers with a service. It is now a mission of mine to by pass Bangladesh and the Phillipines and insist on speaking with someone here in Australia via telecommunications ombudsman #auspol

  • __lachlan Jarrod (@__lachlan) reported

So AFTER Optus announces they’ve contacted all affected customers, only then I’m told I’m caught up in this too. God, this is a **** show #optusfail

  • lejjel lauren jeffery (@lejjel) reported

Apologies, @Optus , but “be vigilant” isn’t enough for me. I am one that received a detailed email about my personal information being accessed. How are you helping us? Would I have to pay to leave your network? #optusbreach #dataintegrity #helpus

  • BoganWazza Wazza Bogan (@BoganWazza) reported

@9NewsAUS I wish to terminate my 2 yr mobile contract with Optus due to their negligence with my personal info . Am I within my rights to change to Telstra ?

  • foo_network Lauren (@foo_network) reported

I can't believe between health issues and visa stuff I now have to deal with Optus being an idiotic company that has leaked my ******* passport. I wish they had my ID instead of my passport but I didn't have an Aus ID when I first moved here

  • OneTiredPigeon JustMe (@OneTiredPigeon) reported

@lenoretaylor @AmyRemeikis Recently switched from Optus mobile because if this. My husband couldn’t get into his own acct while standing in the store because he didn’t have his licence on him. Flat out refused to help, so we switched companies…meanwhile hackers have easier access

  • JFDough John Dough (@JFDough) reported

One thing is clear from this Optus data breach, the CEO of Optus has been made to look out of her depth talking about the issue. CEOs need to take notice so they can be prepared, because this won’t be the last one to happen.
