@DarkMatterzine @joshgnosis Even if the documents were necessary they should never have been placed in an insecure situation. If the API's access was exhaustive Optus was stuffed from the get go.

@ClareONeilMP NSW is not allowing victims of the Optus data leak to change drivers license unless you can prove you are a victim of a case of identity theft. By then it's too late & the damage has been done. Why aren't they allowing all those who were affected, to change their license? #auspol

@grissomsladybug Spent the weekend trying to register with Equifax, nothing but problems. Went to the Optus shop today, told we can’t help you. I said I want that in writing. They helped me, now signed up for a year!

DMZ: 😷 💉 💉 💉 💉 (@DarkMatterzine) reported
@morrisd3_dm @joshgnosis the fundamental problem, however, is that Optus was allowed to require unnecessary documents for new account holders AND kept copies of those documents on a server AND kept that server connected to the internet. The breach was inevitable and the basic problem needs to be fixed.

@RavenZech2 @Optus A friend of one who joined Optus 6 months ago has just told me that he’s received no emails from them. Nothing at all. Pretty bad form @Optus

@KevKellaway @Optus I think you have it right, Kev. If you read between the lines they are basically saying SO LONG SUCKERRR. I know if I don't pay my Optus bill they will cut my phone off. It sucks.

@Optus Having a review by Deloittes will only slow the end not stop it. You have lost our trust, and will never regain it. Optus is finished

Like to say as an Optus customer I have a lack of trust in the telco as far as I’m concerned that shouldn’t have happened

@hardenuppete @joshgnosis Has it ever been part of the Big Four business model to criticise the hand that feeds it? Never I suggest. An Optus/Deloitte joint workshopped response is the best we will get. Same with audits of government work. No anomalies ever found except by agreement?

@6PR Optus has sent me two (2) emails. First was advising some of my details had been hacked and the second was that only my drivers licence details had been hacked, no photo. Since Optus took my details for a new account I cancelled the service after a year and have changed address.
