    @Jeremy_Kirk @1000ftview @ClareONeilMP While removing incentive for crims to tell the org data was compromised. How much does it hamstring our response to ID theft risk if a bad actor finds an easy trove of info (Optus) & there's no incentive to tell the org? Will orgs even find out they're (still?) bleeding data?

  • Trisha_is_Back Trisha_is_back (@Trisha_is_Back) reported

    @CatPurry9 @southwin28 Time to bring Govt under the even stronger rules particularly with all the so called security issues the Aust Govt deals with - Until yesterday I was unaware they were excluded. If hackers can get to Medibank & Optus... we will just have to refuse to hand 100 point IDs to anyone

  • Romulus81212679 Romulus (@Romulus81212679) reported

    @ClareONeilMP The criminals are Medibank, Optus and Telstra for requesting our private information and storing it. And the government for heading down the Digital ID path.

  • APadeau Andy Paterson (@APadeau) reported

    @MrKRudd It is, seeing it headlined on the Sun Herald was appalling, particularly when there are more newsworthy issues presenting, such as the Royal Commission into Robo-debt, hacking of data from Medibank & Optus, Cop27, CEO bonuses, Multinational profits, Fossilfuel profiteering, etc.

  • DebEdmonds60s Debra Edmonds🕯 (@DebEdmonds60s) reported

    @EurekaJustice I received one from Optus. Don’t even remember being a customer of Optus! 🤨

  • DeanRosario Dean Rosario (@DeanRosario) reported

    Very impressed by @ClareONeilMP. She's direct. Doesn't meander & obfuscate. There's a problem with cybersecurity & privacy laws that Govt must fix. Previous Govt had 3,179 days to fix. They did not do enough. Even legislation LNP did enact, they allowed telcos (Optus) exemptions

  • Tksed_1 Hawks Fan (@Tksed_1) reported

    @harpyd04 @Pentanet_ISP Meanwhile im an Optus customer…..

  • sunsetriver88 Jax (@sunsetriver88) reported

    @ClareONeilMP How long will vulnerabilities stay unfixed if hackers know there's no point telling the org, but they can still sell the data (including new incoming customer info) to 3rd parties? Especially while companies like Optus leave the door wide open.

  • Deanos_DT Deano (@Deanos_DT) reported

    So, appears that @VodafoneAU and @Optus are both down in Mt Barker SA. Wonder when they'll be back online?

  • Reynardo_red Reynardo the Fox (@Reynardo_red) reported

    @Optus Done it. It's an old problem - want me to drag up the IFMS ticket numbers from last year?
