All day @Optus has been asking me to provide my account number before they will talk to me online. I can't access that information which is why I contacted them to tell them the app isn't working. They insist they can't help until I give them that info I can't access 1/2

The problem I see with the increase of hacking larger organisations is working from home. How many workers from home are using a device supplied by their employer with firewalls and secure connections? I'm not an IT expert but that would be red flags right there. #medibank #Optus

@randlight @adelaidebeatric They can all start by not collecting info they don't need. And follow that up by deleting personal data once it has served its purpose. Why was Optus storing passport numbers? Same with banks. Once customer identity is established, tag account accordingly, then delete raw data.

@Asher_Wolf I’d like to know why Optus kept our data when we haven’t been a customer for about 5 years. Why wasn’t it deleted within a year, or 2. Email only, nothing else.

...a couple of hang-ups from Optus, as well as some BS about "oh your account wasn't compromised", and "we see no record of you speaking to us about passport replacement due to the breach". Anyway, long story short, buddy lodged an official complaint which has 30 days to be.../?

@Optus I sent a DM. No response. I am not sure you understand what customer service actually is. It is NOT sending people round in loops with no actual answers. This is why I am currently online shopping for a better deal. @Optus

Hey @Optus i think with the number of scam emails i have had to flag, report and delete thanks to your data breach, we need some ACTUAL compensation. Maybe cover all bills for this month yeah? Or until you get your **** together yeah?
