@GQuattromani Stupid question but are you sure it originated from Optus themselves?

@ClareONeilMP I haven’t been an Optus customer since 2004 yet I received a letter from the CEO that my Data had been leaked. It’s left me worried.

Damn you @Optus ... How the bloody hell did you leave an API gateway open? This wasn't a hack. This was an open for inspection. Thanks for letting me know our info has been swiped. So who else got notified??? #optusfail #OptusClassAction

  • Brodhe

If you are, or if you hypothetically would have been, an Optus customer, how worried about the data breach are you?

  • GQuattromani
    Geoff Quattromani (@GQuattromani) reported

@grtdane not a stupid question at all. I checked and double checked all the signs that would make it a phishing attempt and it's definitely from Optus.

4 days after hearing about the Optus hack, I receive an email from the company letting me know that my personal information has been jeopardised. Pretty pathetic @Optus, you’ve lost a lot of goodwill from this customer.

Have you ever seen a CEO @Optus @kbrspace (Kelly Bayer Rosmarin) or CorpAffrs exec @saltysallyo (Sally Oelerich) bomb so comprehensively with every public utterance (about the massive data leak)? Instead of assuring customers, their utter incompetence frightens the crap outta me!

@ClareONeilMP @AustralianLabor I am a long term customer of Optus. Now I know the reason why I receive strange phone calls and texts which is annoying. Because Optus sold my data out.

@Real_Don_Easter @WendyNorthey .. passport number. No copies of photo IDs have been affected. It is also important to know that Optus’ network and Optus services including mobile and home Wi-Fi aren’t affected, and no passwords were compromised, so our services remain safe to use and operate as per normal.

@VicRoads - why can't you cancel and reissue the drivers licenses of hacked Optus customers that want to do this? We are at high risk of identity theft and you won't help us mitigate this until it's to late. @BenCarrollMP
