Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • jnorthoz Joe King (@jnorthoz) reported

@SkyNewsAust It way past time the government legislated the companies must protect customers personal data, and if they fail to do so as Optus and many other clearly have, that are forced to pay generous compensation to their customers! I really fed up with this happening!

  • danversj Danvers Flett (@danversj) reported

I wonder how other Australian telcos' customer data security practices compare to Optus?

  • Orettaya Patrick Orlando (@Orettaya) reported

@7NewsMelbourne @Optus Possibly linked to insider information. Off shore call centres are another integral problem. Optus needs to immediately stop the porting of phone numbers until the risk is mitigated.

  • KleinRevd Revd Andrew Klein ( Chaplain) (@KleinRevd) reported

@virgotweet Had similar problems. At the end of the day, after much obfuscation and humbugging, I got onto to management. NBN mostly uses sub contractors who are used like Gig workers, the infrastructure is stuffed and there is little communication between Optus n NBN.

  • hatross66 Gotrek1966 (@hatross66) reported

@R_Chirgwin Excellent, after getting up them for lousy service and broken towers, now I find out about a data breach on Twitter. Way to go Optus.

  • LikeADroppedPie Head Like a Dropped Pie (@LikeADroppedPie) reported

@cameronwilson Hey @Optus, why do I have to hear about this in the media instead of directly from you? Piss poor.

  • That_Dan_Guy_ Dan (@That_Dan_Guy_) reported

If I was with Optus, I would be talking to my bank to get re-issued credit/debit cards, change all my passwords for all accounts, and set up 2FA. they still don't know how this cyberattack happened. The way Optus have dealt with this is very poor.

  • journalistagen1 journalistagendas (@journalistagen1) reported

@cpenny_6 @6NewsAU @Optus They notified the public yesterday, within 24 hours. Considering the amount of work involved in identifying and rectifying the problem, as well as working out how many customers and how much data was impacted, 24 hours is fine. Doesn’t excuse the breach.

@Optus @RunnerSA18 What? AFTER someone reports their bank accounts being emptied & their identity being stolen. Sounds like you are doing a #RoboDebt PR exercise Minimise issue Tell everyone it is their Personal responsibility Guess you are waiting for the class action then?
