@abcnews In Vic, we need the fraud to occur b4 we can change our licence number. Just stupid! Under the current circumstances, Optus and the Vic Govt should provide a letter to all Optus customers so we can get vicroads to change our licence number.

@lopey66 @rogueytwinkles Well I worked in finance for over 30 years As an existing customer when you call a bank do they ask you for your drivers licence and passport number to identify you. They use full name dob address recent transactions etc These identifying details were not held securely with Optus

@CunninghamDecAU Optus is the worst telecommunication provider in Australia. Some people are just plain stupid I’m guessing.

  • aus_Zenith ˈzɛnɪθ (🐛-arc) (@aus_Zenith) reported

@ChandAshok @Optus Because paying ransoms like this never works, it's completely idiotic to believe someone, who has already shown no ethics at all by breaking the law and stealing people's private information, will just delete the "only copy" of the data

  • afterclimate Ben Abraham @ AfterClimate (@afterclimate) reported

@UnbearableDutch Oh right. Well I’m with Amaysim and pay $30 a month for 50gigs (on Optus network ) if you’re looking to change…

@Jeremy_Kirk Bad news? Sounds like good news. @Optus Pay the money you grubs. I'm not even with you and my data was leaked. Left because your customer service was beyond sh it

  • mikeypine Michael Pine (@mikeypine) reported

You just know for all the rhetoric, this hack on #Optus could definately have been prevented but it's a lack of diligence and willingness to enforce the appropriate #cybersecurity. The "sophisticated" actor statement is horrid. Your are an IT/Telco company!

  • rogueytwinkles Diane D (@rogueytwinkles) reported

@kyliehams Thanks Kylie.. the Optus ****.. we are all in the same boat and the roof leak .. unfortunately is a drama as it involves our RC unit and the pipes coming from it into the roof!! It’s a big job.. kissing goodbye $$$$ 😩

  • JohannesSchmere Johannes Little (@JohannesSchmere) reported

Why isn't critical high value customer information that will cause untold harm worth a measly $1m bug bounty fee? Negotiation is about outcomes, not taking the high ground #OptusHack #auspol @Optus

  • JohannesSchmere Johannes Little (@JohannesSchmere) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Why not pay the amount to protect customer data - call it a bug bounty. Or is Optus customers data not worth $1m?
