@newscomauHQ Can't help but spot the irony of when facebook was hacked & data leaked SEVERAL times in some cases, identical data leaked as now w/ Optus - the outrage was almost non-existent. Data released of more than 10x this one. I'd bet some of those are more than likely STILL on facebook

The Optus garbage should be a reminder that Australians suffer because of cross party recalcitrance around data privacy legislation. We need strong data privacy laws which jurisdiction over both Corporate and Government sectors, with criminal implications for negligence/abuse.

@Henry_Belot Funny how not 1 media organisation has provided the context that Optus is owned by an authoritarian gov. An essential service. They can own it and f+ck it, but we can't. ABC?

Would love it if Optus had contacted me telling me the exact data I gave them years ago when I signed up to help the process of getting new documents etc. They sent me a generic email on Sat and there's been no follow up since.

@Bergha2 Interesting. I've been an optus customer for many years '98- 2008 but not on the list so far. I am just saying it's uncertainty created by that 2014 bill.

@damedesfIeurs Oh my god, that’s awful. I can’t believe Optus isn’t one, updating us like HOURLY bc this is absolutely important. Two, how they let millions of customers information just left out in the open like that?? Apparently this gives everyone a good reason to leave our contracts bc +

@TheTodayShow I complained to Optus not only because of the spams, their **** service. I WAS NOT called at all about this breach!!!! I had to call them only to find I have been comprised!!!!! I told them I’m not paying my bill!!! I’M DISGUSTED! OPTUS SUCK!!!
