These things are taught in beginner programming classes. It is frankly, unacceptable for a large company like Optus to have these sorts of problems in their public facing systems. Millions of Australians (myself included) are now at risk of identity theft, fraud etc. 5/6

@nadinevoncohen I bet your Optus bill is never late.

  • Littlefishb1ue In a big pond (@Littlefishb1ue) reported

@redruby17 @Optus @Equifax It’s stupid to create bottlenecks and unnecessary stress when it’s time critical. It needs to be done efficiently and the way it’s being dealt with atm is chaotic.

@DeniseBeale Unhappy too, actually that's something of an understatement. I'm a current customer. Generic email about what of my data has been breached. Impossible to engage with Optus customer (non-existent) service. #optusfail #OptusHack Not happy Jan!

  • AnOldManStream1 An Old Man Streaming (@AnOldManStream1) reported

Did Optus stuff up? Sure did. But banks and credit card companies and businesses will happily create an account in what ever name they are given over the phone without citing the person or checking with other companies if the data was stolen. Also a problem. #qanda

  • section_117 Constitutional Freedom🇦🇺 (@section_117) reported

Law suits should proceed against Optus and teach them a lesson for having sensitive information available to be hacked. I'm one of those Optus customers and class actions should start at $1M per customer. #optusbreach #optusfailure

  • JustAidan11 Aidan11 (@JustAidan11) reported

I’m not sure if there’s a valid reason for it or not, but why did Optus have details that didn’t seem relevant to their service #QandA

  • thilankadinush Thilanka Rathnayaka 🙏🙏🌱🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰 (@thilankadinush) reported

OPTUS, Australia largest telecommunication provider has a massive data breached, and ransomware for data. This is the ever-worst data breached for them. Company said this was a sophisticated attack. Hackers revealed about 10m customers data which is 40% of population.

@rpotter_9 @Kieran_Gilbert You nerds need to start with a philosophy. That philosophy centres around the customer the trust in your trustworthiness. Optus has no right to hold any personal data ever again even if that means the end. The 'system' did not fail, the people did. Open banking? Blockchain.
