@TKoutsantonisMP @Optus Tom, what if you'reeffected, but aren't a current optus customer? Optus are contacting people effected, who fall into that category (historical customer data was also stolen).

@Fingoth1 Optus aren’t paying the Equifax rack rate. They will have negotiated a bulk price, perhaps as little as $1 per customer. The suggestion they would trash their reputation to give a credit protection service a leg up is bizarre.

  • misullivan Michelle Sullivan (@misullivan) reported

@CampbellMander1 @SenPaterson @Birmo Scenario: I get an Optus SIM card, I commit fraud/scam over the SIM, 24 hours later I cancel my service and return the SIM.. few weeks later police investigate complaints... Get the reason why “regulatory requirements “...?

@Optus @RunnerSA18 We are "former" CUSTOMERS of Optus, and have had NO services of any kind for years. Imagine our surprise to receive an email telling us that out data has been disclosed and exposed. Is it against the law to retain customer data for years after the customer has moved on?
