Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • troyhunt Troy Hunt (@troyhunt) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

A radio host asked me if the gov can fix this. How? Make hacking illegal? Penalise companies for breaches? There are definitely areas they can influence (better regulation around data retention and identify verification in the @Optus case), but it doesn’t “fix” the problem.

  • laurabarnes567 Laura Barnes (@laurabarnes567) reported

@Asher_Wolf optus have done sweet f**k all ... I've had a total of 2 emails from them - one in the beginning notifying me. Second one just last week advising that I was one of the people who's license number was involved. Seriously poor form

  • JacMay19 Jac (@JacMay19) reported

Never mind that I will run out of credit soon and can't recharge so lose all ability to communicate. @Optus I really would appreciate a phone call in response to this. Is it really so difficult to speak to me?

  • PeterCo30675183 Peter Coleman (@PeterCo30675183) reported

@PaulFletcherMP @NSWJBD @ECAJewry Rack off Paul if you think this you are a bigger idiot than we all first thought. Maybe you should worry about the Optus customers you exposed to great loss

  • rodneaves007 rod neaves (@rodneaves007) reported

  • Snapper88 Jennifer Bowskill (@Snapper88) reported

@Optus @RunnerSA18 My landline hasn’t worked with your company since April. You have now cancelled all my accounts with you. I need my internet, mobile ph. I’m chronically sick. Please can someone fix this up.

  • GMKitson Glenn Kitson (@GMKitson) reported

@swollenpickles Good lord that woman is so dishonest. Optus is a garbage company.

  • DoodyDarren Darren (@DoodyDarren) reported

@IanMcMi38908747 @AlboMP What do you suggest, a new publicly owned telco perhaps? Talk to Telstra, Optus and co. They are the ones who can fix the problem.

  • SenPaterson James Paterson (@SenPaterson) reported

He’s given it to the already very busy Attorney General. But before the election Albanese said: ‘cybersecurity needs to be someone’s day job, not the last item on another minister’s to-do list’. No wonder the govts response to Optus and Medibank has been so slow and inadequate

  • eljosho1102 Josh Maddison (@eljosho1102) reported

@savannahmeacham @9NewsAUS I just hope to god I don’t have to go into the local motor registry this weekend to get a new photo ID. Narrowly dodged the Optus breach as I haven’t been a customer with them for 2 yrs. Didn’t expect this to escalate but in cybersecurity anything can happen…
