@alifrance5 Optus should also bare all costs for any customer wanting to move to another carrier. What they have allowed is unforgivable.

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews It’s very clear that no further action will be taken by Optus unless the customer contacts Optus, asks what details have been leaked and make Optus provide a free Equifax account. I get the feeling Optus has no idea exactly what data has been leaked.

@abcnews This is simply too shallow a response. Govt. needs to properly protect its citizens, not offer mealy-mouthed platitudes. A dedicated service that does not rely on Optus needs to be set up by govt. NOW. Then charge Optus for the cost of resolving the issue. Plus 30% if you like.

Optus needs to pay for everything that was lost not the govt because the govt means taxpayers. Why would we pay for an Optus mistake and a big fat mistake that. If I were an affected Optus customer, I'd be seeing a lawyer.

@crystals_crazy @ClareONeilMP @Optus Obviously the problem is identity theft... not someone stealing your card....

Hey @Optus, how come you still haven't sent out a message to every customer about this data breach. Not good enough. Soon I'll be saying goodbye for good.

@Optus Still trying to find out if I’m impacted by the breach or not. Some support and info would be great.

@hughriminton @10NewsFirst My partner called #optus to pay out the last remaining device payments so they can move on. The man who spoke to her was rude and seemed to take it personally. He then cut off the service and the call hung up. My partner has no phone now Optus cancelled the service. SOS Only.

@westaustralian @katinacurtis Why? It’s the stupid federal government that requires telcos like @Optus to hold this sensitive KYC identifying information in the first place.
