@Optus Rubbish.. I only heard about this by accident from a friend.. I don’t always check the news forensically in case optus puts out a press release. Really poor decision-making here..

The 9.8 million records figure in the media is the worst case. Optus believes it's a "very small" subset of data but they don't have the exact number yet. Once they know, they'll contact each customer with the specifics of the data breaches for that customer.

@chdyctt @Optus You cant expect people to be watching, reading or listening to the news. It is individual communication that is required from Optus. It is not a time to be cost saving to not communicating to its customer.

Optus not specific about how they are contacting customers, because they don't want phishing attacks to get ahead of them. Problem is, had they contacted customers FIRST, that wouldn't be a problem. Just send out a notice with no link.

Hey @Optus will you be assisting customers to change their date of birth? New mobile number? New email addresses? I am harmed. I am angry. I might be one in 9 million, but I demand to know how you will rectify this untold breach of trust. Optus fail.

@GayCarBoys I don’t like Gladys & the Optus login system was a bit of a joke until recently (couldn’t set long passwords & no 2factor), but even the most hardened networks can be compromised. Welcome to what the Cyber Security Industry calls Zero Trust - assume everything is breached always.

@Optus @RunnerSA18 Classic Optus, shambles of a network, shambles of a company. Not surprised
