If laughable that @PeterDutton_MP suggests the #OptusDataBreach is a problem for the government. It’s an Optus issue about a breach in Optus customer data. Let Optus sort things out and investigate first. #auspol

"I’m disappointed that we couldn’t prevent it" -- Optus CEO. There was nothing to prevent, all you had to do was keep the data safe. There was no attack, this was just negligence. This comes down to a bad practices and a bad internal culture @Optus #OptusDataBreach #databreach

@JR_24X @Optus Nothing that a complete change of identity and residency can’t fix. Thank goodness your password is safe 👍🏼

@stephanlivera @Optus Even the US had the self awareness to know that collection is bad and tried to hide it. Australia says, screw it... we'll punish you if you DON'T collect metadata. 😔

@DrKate_Miller @Optus Damn.

@semiosmith @RedJules4 100% correct. There are, it seems to me, culture issues at @Optus that allow bad practices that allow this to occur. A single individual "human error" should matter with good change and security culture in place #OptusDataBreach #databreach We need right to be forgotten laws

@10NewsFirst @hughriminton @ParisMartin_1 A customer here. Still yet to hear from Optus. Their comms and crisis mgmt teams are just as bad as their cyber security team
