Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • hazchem Enjoyer of things. (@hazchem) reported

@GlenCodes @Optus OFFFT. Not even my area of knowledge, let alone expertise and I can see how reckless and stupid this was.

  • TheCurbAU Andrew F - AACTA Voting Open Soon (@TheCurbAU) reported

I just want to say on behalf of myself and all the eventual fake versions of me that'll pop up down the line: Don't ever use @Optus. They're absolutely borked.

  • hardenuppete Glen Schaefer (@hardenuppete) reported

@kochie @Optus We have learnt more from this anonymous source than from Optus and it’s obvious to me they have gone into damage control. I personally won’t be trusting Optus to be fully transparent if it risks admitting any legal liability.

  • CoralSaunders1 Coral Saunders (@CoralSaunders1) reported

@lesstenny No he hasn't. He just blamed Labor for the Optus problem. I'm sure had this happened under the LNP government he would have stepped up and said "I take full responsibility" - not.

  • allrite allrite (@allrite) reported

While we are talking Optus, one of my first jobs was phone tech support with Microplex, the ISP that became Optus Internet (thread).

  • AusGovSlave AusGovSlave (@AusGovSlave) reported

@agentsmart @ElaineM11584892 it's what abc is reporting ""Eventually one of the networks it was exposed to was a test network which happened to have internet access." This allowed access to the Optus network from outside the company."

  • AusGovSlave AusGovSlave (@AusGovSlave) reported

Optus has also denied it. "Optus told the ABC suggestions the attack stemmed from human error were inaccurate, but conceded the incident was still under investigation."

  • Asher_Wolf Asher Wolf (@Asher_Wolf) reported

The process allegedly involved opening up the Optus customer identity database to other systems via what's known as an Application Programming Interface, with the assumption that the API would only be used by authorised company systems.

  • pughfieldaya k • (@pughfieldaya) reported

@abcnews Still yet to hear word from @optus directly. I knew their customer service was crap but Jesus Christ not even an email to say sorry for potential identity theft

  • diming Diming (@diming) reported

@RossFloate I tried n times to make Optus to update address I rented and moved out of 7 years ago and the answer was “can’t do it - different systems”. Every single customer service script written as “Don’t bother us”, always felt so bad for people who had to work in their call centres..
