Also nice to know that @Optus has contacted the media first and not actual customers. Whilst they are great people, I shouldn’t have to rely on drip-fed information about the breach via @stilgherrian and @trevorlong. As an actual customer. So yeah, fuuuun times ahead.

This OPTUS breach is disgraceful! It's happened to many times with that telco. Everytime they've had one. They've always said. They'll fix it up! Obviously haven't fixed it up wnough. Or not at all! Don't forget. Optus is a US company. Where they seem not be as diligent!

@Optus No, should have AT LEAST emailed/texted ALL customers about the breach and then given instructions on what they needed to do - eg. change passwords, keep an eye on any odd account activity, shared info on credit check bans etc. For a comms company Optus really sucks at comms.

@skulzy87 @Optus A friend of mine spoke to Optus on live chat and they confirmed his account has been flagged as compromised but the support agent couldn't tell him what data has been leaked. They said Optus would reach out in 24-48hrs with updates. Not a great response.

@NewtonMark if only Optus employed people with good English things wouldn't have got this bad - just another corporation

@terencehuynh I can't believe I switched to Optus for a promotion just a month before this all went down :(

@Optus @RunnerSA18 Why am I being told to change my passwords from the TV news and not in a text from you? My last Optus text was 3 days ago informing me you're bringing more reliable service to my suburb.

Imagine the meeting that this line of attack came from lmao "we need to appeal to nationalism and defense to get pressure on the government to save us and make people think this isn't simply an Optus Problem"

@NeevaStephen @Optus Lock down your credit reports if you are concerned. That’s pretty much the only thing thats provided peace of mind, excellent advice from another wonderful Twitter pal. Won’t @ them due to privacy. The perpetrators tried obtaining credit in my name and locking the reports helps.
