    @nswpolice A question. As modern phones support Sat for messages - mine switched to it - should we be pushing for configs that use Sat for 000 for these circumstances? This is a good time to push Telstra and Optus to look at it rather than fine them

    @twensor @FetchStep sadly its totally on form for telstra. remember when a small fire in their chatswood building took out the national SMS network. where i live telstra, nbn, optus and vodafone are all on a 4 hour battery backup, while essential energy schedules regular 8 hour outages.

    @jlandsme_93 The media in WA refuse to press Optus management over it. The drainage system there has issues all the time. The soil develops a slippery biofilm on it due to the **** drainage system

    If you only have one SIM it sucks to be you. I have 4. Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and a French SIM from Free. So I’m never without service.

    @therevaknight Because of Government incompetence, they had no simple backup system, they made NO allowances for technological failure, complexity is the enemy of reliable; the reliability issue was known (ref previous OPTUS outage). NO REDUNDANCY for critical infrastructure! @heidimur

    @Optus This morning, just after 11am, I noticed that my @Optus @NBN_Australia connection stopped working, resulting in no internet or telephone service. I’m located in the Inner West Sydney area. Is this an unscheduled outage. What is going on? This is so frustrating!

    (not to mention, I was in the OPTUS shop when this occured, and has occured many times...) I couldn't send any messages on discord but speed tests were fine, I smell layer 7 sniffing and dodgy QoS to make your network look better...

    @heidimur In WA Transporth uses Fibre that runs thought every station and Private Wireless (LTE/4.9G): Transperth doesn't use Telstra or Optus for train-to-ground data. They built a custom, secure wireless network with 160+ dedicated radio masts along the tracks using licensed spectrum.

    @david89293299 Where was the communications minister moron? Some one needed to step up and actually test it! Not like the the bungled Optus uggrade where the 000 outage went unnoticed for hours. Smart and proactive! Not something you Labtards would know anything about
