  • GumLeafWhistler Gumleaf of Finkum Dair™ (@GumLeafWhistler) reported

Reading #OptusDataBreach emails, can't help being annoyed with the simple fact that getting access to data is one thing, while being useable is something else again. Optus messaging suggests there was no encryption applied to the personal data. We need to ask, why the hell not!?

  • BerniJBunge Number 8 💉💉💉 (@BerniJBunge) reported

So as a @Optus customer I have no idea if I’ve been affected by this hacking. An email saying no you haven’t, is just as important as yes you have. Uncertainty is driving my anxiety through the roof #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach #Optus

  • aussielunix Mick Pollard 🤠 (@aussielunix) reported

I was an @optus customer in 2018/2019 but have not received an email about the data leak. How am I to trust them that my data wasn't leaked ? I hope it makes its way into @haveibeenpwned

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@muminprogress Hi Saman, ID Support NSW is working with Optus to support customers whose NSW government-issued credentials may have been impacted. Customers who may have been affected and need to replace documents can call the ID Support NSW team on 1800 001 040 - Mon to Fri (9am to 5pm).

  • estjune83 Tommy from Sydney (@estjune83) reported

@Debb_Richards @VictorDominello He's referring to Optus customers, but in fact you are a customer of Government services, so maybe be less glib and rude and more open to people getting better service from Government. Most people think Service NSW is the gold standard.

  • Cazarellee Caz (@Cazarellee) reported

This Optus hacking business, of which I am an exposed customer, is one of the reasons why I won't allow direct debit bill payments and won't use a banking app on my mobile. Apparently they didn't get any account details, this time.

  • timrosen35 Tim Rosen (@timrosen35) reported

No doubt @Optus put the hacker on hold, left him there for 2 hours, transferred him to another operator to “help them further”, then hung up mid convo “accidentally” to avoid actioning anything.

  • wendyemily2 wendyemily (@wendyemily2) reported

So someone let me know if there’s a class action against Optus. I’ll definitely join. I’m mighty pissed off & feel completely helpless as there’s not a damn thing I can do to protect myself. Sure I change PIN numbers but other than that? I don’t fall for scams. But feel helpless.

@Debb_Richards @VictorDominello Optus customers are just that, customers. I am tax payer but NOT an Optus customer, see the difference?

  • DominicDirupo Dominic Dirupo (@DominicDirupo) reported

The next 30 days is going to be a golden time for scammers to phish personal info from distressed Optus users trying to fix the issue. Be vigilant
