@Optus Next question with regards to previous customers with possible compromised details. How long have Optus been retaining personal details for once a customer has left Optus?

  • PJW719 PJW719 (@PJW719) reported

@pitdroidtech @noplaceforsheep I agree with this and yes Optus should offer all customer impacted this financial benefit. but hackers make there living by following through with the payment/. If they don’t delete on payment no one will pay them next time.

  • Scrxtchy Scratch. (@Scrxtchy) reported

@jamiemgalea as I've blasted vodafone for in the past, their missed call system is also dogshit compared to what Optus and Telstra offer (voice to SMS/MMS), they only inform you of a missed call, which if you're out of service, doesn't display who called without querying voicemail

  • uminathereal Richie E (@uminathereal) reported

@lesstenny Obviously, **** all - since Optus is screwed.

  • YUHeff2BSoGreen This Dalek's Workday 🇺🇦💉💉💉 (@YUHeff2BSoGreen) reported

optus should be offering a free 12 month sub to Equifax Protect for EVERY customer affected, even if they claim some haven't had their d/l, medicare or passport numbers breached.

  • Lyall_Mercer Lyall Mercer (@Lyall_Mercer) reported

Crisis communications is unpredictable & difficult. I usually don’t like to be critical. But as an impacted customer, #OptusHack is the worst example of communicating through a crisis I’ve ever seen. It’s amateur. How @Optus was so unprepared is astounding #publicrelations

  • bozwhite Boz (@bozwhite) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Anything about Equifax service. Considering they had a data breach in 2017. Given that company is what the credit system being used for Optus custoners

  • bentsolutionsau B.Tolputt (@bentsolutionsau) reported

@jasonjordan Define "hacked". I'm a coder by trade and from what I understand of this situation, Optus is indeed culpable. However, the legal definition of hack is "unauthorised access of a system or network". What occurred was unauthorised access

  • thebigjohnnyd John Delmenico (@thebigjohnnyd) reported

Calling the Optus situation a hack is like calling stealing a pen from work a heist, like it's still bad but that **** was sitting right there for the taking

  • AdamLFC40 Adam (@AdamLFC40) reported
