In light of Optus' negligence with customer data, do any Australian banks allow 2FA on personal banking without undermining it with mobile-phone based recovery vectors?

  • ArchyJaneF JaneEvil (@ArchyJaneF) reported

@StevenGeorgant1 @AlanBixter Maybe partner companies that use the Optus network. My phone provider uses this network, but I never had to provide passport or driving licence details for that, so hopefully not compromised.

  • Kylie_E_King Kylie King (@Kylie_E_King) reported

@bartlett_saraj @Optus Damn! Did they email?

  • lawrencevanrijn Lawrence Van Rijn (@lawrencevanrijn) reported

@JeromeDoraisamy Who was the idiot that created the message? Another Optus issue. Oh joy.

  • rainey_archer rainey archer (@rainey_archer) reported

@DrKate_Miller I did this a while ago after Adobe didn't protect my data. It was unexpectedly reassuring to know that all my IT paranoia was paying off. Not sure I'll be as lucky with the amount of data Optus saved on me, even though I haven't been a customer for years.

  • Pnuks NUKS(NOOKS) (@Pnuks) reported

@Optus better give me minimum 20yrs free service with optional upgrades of relevant high end technology for the colossal stuff up they did with my passport, drivers license and other personal data. also paying $68AUD/M for 1 bar signal

  • CouldntBeArsed1 *Big sigh* (@CouldntBeArsed1) reported

@byronkaye See, you're onto it. You're better off with your information in the hands of hackers rather than #Optus. Hackers have a much better network organisation.

  • PixelTheyDM Pixel Harman 🔜 PAX Aus 🎲🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ (@PixelTheyDM) reported

Not Optus telling me for the eighth time this week that they’re “improving service in my area” while conveniently refusing to let me know directly of a potential data breach. Bet I’d get a speedy email if my bill was somehow not paid right on time, though…

Having now finally received the sorry we f**ked up email from Floptus. Can I say what a pathetic half apology by them. Entire tone after potentially effing up the lives of 11m+ customers, is basically "don't worry out systems aren't damage & we will be fine. BTW soz" #Optus

  • jr_p30 The silent investor (@jr_p30) reported

@Optus @rico_wallaby Individually contacting means a shorty generic text msg! Your service and care is pathetic
