@Geoff_Beggs @Optus I am staggered but also unsurprised at how poor this is.

  • pen844744 Pen (@pen844744) reported

@thedarkadmiral @redruby17 @Optus Well I wouldn’t bother contacting Optus on their stupid app! It’s just a set up to waste your time and make you so enraged that you give up. These are my thoughts pre them letting our data be stolen

  • frodo_fred Fred Frodo (@frodo_fred) reported

@redruby17 @Optus The real problem here is the Australian government requirement for telecoms to retain your data.

  • carter_wassana Wassana sydney (@carter_wassana) reported

@redruby17 @Optus I have a new passport acquired after my Optus agt. I believe a class action ( slater Gordon type ) needs to happen, anyone who can demonstrate being an optus customer and suffered ID theft should be able to claim against Optus. Re passport...at my age, this PP will outlive me.

  • HitchHadAPoint Murphy (@HitchHadAPoint) reported

@redruby17 @Optus It just gets worse with Floptus. D/Licenses can't be replaced *until* you've been defrauded. Risk, much? Passport replacement costs are on the customer BUT Floptus won't answer re recompense. Credit report & security costs, time wasted - a full time week at least - for now.

  • VillenelleOk VillianelleOksana 🐨🌺 (@VillenelleOk) reported

@ToMyPirateShip @JustJul77588855 We've had our annual Sports subscription gone since Sunday. Optus can't find our payment that automatically come out, our ph no. Or our account ID. Like we never existed, but the proof of payment is there. Almost a week later they still can't fix it!?

  • ShaunBarr10 Sʜᴀᴜɴ Bᴀʀʀ (SB) (@ShaunBarr10) reported

C'mon. I just assume that @GladysB gave the login details of the Optus classified material to her new lover.

  • stephensc0tt Stephen Scott (@stephensc0tt) reported

@Optus Changed my login email address and password. They used my date of birth (which was leaked) to verify the new login details. Cool.

  • CooperCodes Cooper Everywhere All At Once 🧑🏼‍💻 (@CooperCodes) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Optus and Qantas really fighting for that “worst company in Australia” award.

  • Psy_Fer_ James Ferguson (@Psy_Fer_) reported

So from what I've read, the optus "hack" was actually an epic failure of optus connecting their customer DB to a test network with an unauthenticated API... Connected to the public facing internet. So there was no unauthorised access, and so no "hack", just optus incompetence.
