@candi9burns_b The way companies handle data for previous customer is an issue that will need addressing- Optus and medibank hacks prove this given ppl who hadn’t been customers for over 10years affected. It’s even worse given you asked for it to be deleted!

Well, there you go. @optus advertising its self-congratulatory 'it was bad, sure, but we'll fix it' data breach is next-level selective deafness. It shouldn't have happened, tens of thousands affected and the correct response is genuine contrition. Not this ad. Ever.

For the Optus Hack, try go onto the Breachforums website and try locate the “optusdata” user’s IP Address, and track them down like that. If it’s a VPN, try request traffic data logs.

How can PVO conclude that the Optus leak is worse than the Medibank one? They are both terrible - but Medibank has lost people’s actual medical records, and they are being leaked in a way that targets actual medical information. #insiders

@PeterRelph @ABCaustralia Both Medibank & Optus failed proper security on their sensitive customer data which is how data was able to be accessed They must be held responsible and all companies with Australian customers must be scrutinized and held to account on their data retention & security measures

Very impressed by @ClareONeilMP. She's direct. Doesn't meander & obfuscate. There's a problem with cybersecurity & privacy laws that Govt must fix. Previous Govt had 3,179 days to fix. They did not do enough. Even legislation LNP did enact, they allowed telcos (Optus) exemptions

@Optus When you compensating me for allowing my info to be stolen. Im now getting unsolicited email scams, phone call scams and Ive had to lock down my bank account. You cant offer me new internet at my new premises yet you allow info to be stolen. When's the CEO being sacked
