  • tonytau101 Tony Ilian (@tonytau101) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@lesstenny @Optus Yep I can answer this with a couple of different scenarios - as I don’t have specifics. Night time issues. If your MiL is old school PSTN customer, it could be thermal induction. Daytime temp warms = copper expands. Night time temp falls copper contracts near joint. TI 1/-

  • PerthGas Gerry Prewett (@PerthGas) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

So how do the @Optus hackers demand a ransom? What will they ‘return’? Data that they have already copied? The damage has been done and is irreversible.

  • _anjalee Anjalee Patel (@_anjalee) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

Optus said ‘yes’ to making customer details public.

  • jodstar2000 Jody Crothers (@jodstar2000) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@Optus I have spent hours on your help app. Conflicting message, SMS My data has been compromised, confirmed by the help desk. Ask for an email to confirm, was told my account hadn't be compromised, had to send screen shots of earlier messages twice to show you had told me I had

  • Claret_perth Clare Thompson ☀️☀️ (@Claret_perth) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@Optus how can a former customer get in touch to sort out the data you let the hackers steal?

  • mallottk Kath Mallott 😷 #VoteYES❤️💛🖤 (@mallottk) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

I'm an #Optus customer, so if a hacker now has my #Optus email address, all I have to do is change to Telstra, or other Server and voila...one problem is solved! 🙌🙌🙌

@dodo hi there, is dodo customer affected by Optus cyber attack?

  • Tebyanian Tebyanian (@Tebyanian) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@Optus dealing with your customer service team when I'm enquiring about SWITCHING over to Optus is painful and excruciating!! I'm really curious to see how you deal with existing customers and actual complaints

  • lainieaquietoz Lainie (@lainieaquietoz) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@markje4 @cheryl_kernot I only became an Optus customer when they bought out Virgin and I left them a couple of years ago. I was told they will delete all past customers details when this is all sorted but as it's an ongoing issue they don't know when that will be. Fanfuckingtastic

  • MeckeringBoy Michael Dowling #ClimateActionNow (@MeckeringBoy) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@ObeeWhen @GrrrumpyPants There was a queue of people with similar hack issues. I don’t know how much business Optus is doing these days. I walked out in disgust.

  • benthien_tara Tara Wright (@benthien_tara) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@prairiegirl0028 Optus is like that right at the top. All open and freezing from the wind. Glad I'm down closer to the action now. Not sure we'll remain dry tomorrow night though in new seats. Unless of course it doesn't rain.

  • lainieaquietoz Lainie (@lainieaquietoz) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@ianbfarquhar @shamathahaven And why when I haven't been a customer with Optus for 3 years do they still have my details and now so does someone else

  • anthonyspiteri anthonyspiteri.net (@anthonyspiteri) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@drzax What is the suggestion then? All I’m seeing is the media looking to crucify @Optus for… yes a serious incident, but one that happens almost weekly in terms of big breaches.

  • MeckeringBoy Michael Dowling #ClimateActionNow (@MeckeringBoy) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@WCSkinClinic did you send me a text with a link? As a former Optus customer I’m wary.

  • norfee84 northy84 (@norfee84) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@OptusSport @OptusSport @Optus wtf is going on I’m constantly having to switch channels due to streaming issues had to cast from my phone 2nd game I’ve watched and had same issues with the wolves game

@Frank_theTank78 Yeah... Wtf...I've only managed to get Optus to do that

  • rossandrew61 Ross Andrew (@rossandrew61) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@VodafoneAU you seriously have no idea how to look after customers. Absolutely hopeless. I'm paying for a service that doesn't work....repeatedly. My work depends on you delivering a service that I pay for, incredibly bad and disappointing. Checking Optus and Tesltra options 😞

  • lainieaquietoz Lainie (@lainieaquietoz) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@Mellie747 @rogueytwinkles I'm an ex customer so no account. I was with Virgin before Optus took them over. Guess I'll just have to wait

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • leighbentley 💧 Leigh Bentley (@leighbentley) reported

@NobodyImpawtant @StephenJonesMP Once Optus verified my details to prove my identity and open my account, why did they need to retain my data? Legislation to prevent retention of personal data should be considered. Stop the problem before it starts.

  • charlietech Charlie (@charlietech) reported

Former @Optus customer that left after 2017. No email or sms yet. I am also a customer of 3 different Optus MVNOs but they are not impacted.

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@Tommyboytown Hi Tommyboy, ID Support NSW is working with Optus to support customers with NSW government-issued credentials, such as a NSW driver licence or birth certificate, if they have been impacted. 1/2

  • CelerySorbet celerysorbet (@CelerySorbet) reported

@unfnknblvbl @joshgnosis Of course! But ransomware ransoms are paid by companies all the time. That Optus hasn't even sent a team to check this person out and what they are saying, and for such a tiny price, is telling. It's obvious these are Optus customer's records.

  • RobynInTheStix Robyn 🇺🇦 #VoteYes #UnionThug (@RobynInTheStix) reported

@manjusrii @pharnzwurth I see a class action coming up very soon if Optus don't fix this.

  • WAppleyard Winston Appleyard 🌈 (@WAppleyard) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@alisoncroggon As I am also an Optus customer I await..

  • leighbentley 💧 Leigh Bentley (@leighbentley) reported

@StephenJonesMP It's a bit late now...the data is out there. Cancelling my Optus service is pointless. Someone/everyone on the dark web knows my name, home address, email, mobile phone number etc etc Do I have to sell my house now to avoid my identity being stolen?

  • iamjinaldagli Jinal Dagli (@iamjinaldagli) reported

@Optus hey Optus I am unable to get through your call center to move service. Therefore I have decided to deactivate the service. Agents put us on hold randomly and disconnect. This is frustrating

  • regan_k_ regan kerr (@regan_k_) reported

@7NewsSydney @Optus not this former customer who left post-2017. As for a CEO taking “full responsibility”, I’ll believe it when I see a resignation

  • iblistrigg3r iblis (@iblistrigg3r) reported

@Optus my data reception has been awful since the cyber attack and am barely getting 3G at home anymore when I was always on 5G. Is there a way to fix this?
