My NBN is completely down in Bull Creek all morning since 8:30am this morning. Optus said there is a line issue at my premises but it’s completely down. It’s an ongoing issue with no fix at all. This is the only service I can get @GrayConnolly

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Kim97327075 Kim (@Kim97327075) reported

@KoparaFallsKid @DanielAndrewsMP The whole point of wanting a new licence number is to stop fraud & Vic Roads say basically we won’t help until there is fraud. How about being proactive & try to assist in stopping the fraud in the first place? VR knows about the Optus breach & yet won’t to help.

  • KrystinneEastl2 Krystinne Eastlake (@KrystinneEastl2) reported

@byronkaye If he/she/it is successful this time who is to say what he will demand from his victim. While he may have been trying to hamper Optus, what he actually did was make the average Australian have to face more problems, time and money. No sympathie he is nit Robin Hood

  • TassieBooks Bookaholic (@TassieBooks) reported

@MoarToast @Optus I got an email yesterday saying "as a former customer". I have a current phone service with them...

  • Mykal_AU Nomad not mad (@Mykal_AU) reported

@RichardKGrump @Pamduckling @Optus Let's wait for the final assessment. From what I've read, there's a great deal of corporate compliance and downright foolish PII management that needs to be confirmed. Leaving an unauthenticated API was bad, but storing high risk data is potentially criminal

  • printfJess J͓̽e͓̽s͓̽s͓̽ 🌈 (@printfJess) reported

@yaakov_h @ClareONeilMP Agreed. We shouldn't get to a point where a national emergency has to be called. What happened at Optus was an atrocity. We live in an age when the protection of personal data is literally the protection of people.

  • AdrianMalec Adrian Malec (@AdrianMalec) reported

@davesag @Jeremy_Kirk They actually need to retain that data as per s187C of the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979, for the lifetime of the service and for 2 years following its termination. Where Optus failed was protecting that information from unauthorised access.

  • kels_316 Adam (@kels_316) reported

Thank **** that since having this Optus account I got a new DL in a different state so at least that’s one bit of data they can’t ******* leak.

  • gr39w Greg Webb (@gr39w) reported

    2. Change password link no good because can't open emails. Had to call Optus support but they can longer authentic callers and so they won't change it. Friend now up S creek. What a mess!

  • p_narelle Narelle P (@p_narelle) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Had an issue with my Optus account 5/6 months ago, the recharge section kept saying it was unsafe, wouldn't allow recharge. Makes me wonder how long the issue has been happening.

  • mvyrmnd Drambusters (@mvyrmnd) reported

@chipswoon @arielbogle Optus had to collect that data because the government forces them to. Should be like the UK where you can buy a functional SIM from a supermarket and not need 100 points of ID to have a phone service
