@Optus @iheartguitar If you're interested in alternatives @VodafoneAU had been great especially with their 4G backup, so even if NBN goes down the connection still works. Nowadays internet isn't a luxury, it's livelihood and companies need to step up their game to match.

@prairiegirl0028 Optus is like that right at the top. All open and freezing from the wind. Glad I'm down closer to the action now. Not sure we'll remain dry tomorrow night though in new seats. Unless of course it doesn't rain.

  • MeckeringBoy Michael Dowling #ClimateActionNow (@MeckeringBoy) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@ObeeWhen @GrrrumpyPants There was a queue of people with similar hack issues. I don’t know how much business Optus is doing these days. I walked out in disgust.

  • anthonyspiteri anthonyspiteri.net (@anthonyspiteri) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@drzax What is the suggestion then? All I’m seeing is the media looking to crucify @Optus for… yes a serious incident, but one that happens almost weekly in terms of big breaches.

  • thedangerbeard dangerbeard (@thedangerbeard) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

@Websta_Black That’s weird, your wireless network isn’t dependent on your internet connection, unless Optus have done something incredibly stupid with your router ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • baradhili PICSI.co (@baradhili) reported

@bugwannostra @Optus and I'm yet to learn if my info is at risk... or even if they are investigating .... @Optus what is your comms team doing? I know your cyber team is flat out - but can you help?

  • thatmdee Em D (@thatmdee) reported

The Optus debacle shows it's only fair I rebrand myself as a 'sophisticated cyber attacker' when I fix up my own whoopsies

  • AlexDGlengarry Alex McDonnel (@AlexDGlengarry) reported

@nineislands There is really only 2 providers - Telstra or Optus as they are the only companies who have network infrastructure. The small retailers use one or the other, name your poison!

  • Rob_Smithers Robert Smithers (@Rob_Smithers) reported

@GilliantheGP This could end up being the largest class action lawsuit in Australian history, the scale of the damages from this event is almost limitless, it would behove Optus to spend a lot of money right now to do damage control

@nineislands I switched to Voda years ago. Excellent coverage. Where I live Optus is non existent & Telstra drops out. Good prepaid with heaps of data.. $40/month free talk & txt+ heaps of data. Is the only internet I have.Have travelled up to Qld & over to SA with no problems

  • ArchyJaneF JaneEvil (@ArchyJaneF) reported

@StevenGeorgant1 @AlanBixter Maybe partner companies that use the Optus network. My phone provider uses this network, but I never had to provide passport or driving licence details for that, so hopefully not compromised.

  • potatobake28 Cake not chicken (@potatobake28) reported

@ken_killcare @agarner This sounds like fun of the mill scam. But I’d recommend people use an ID tracking service especially if they’ve been (or are) an Optus customer.

  • jr_p30 The silent investor (@jr_p30) reported

@Optus @rico_wallaby Individually contacting means a shorty generic text msg! Your service and care is pathetic

  • IrinaAsanova1 Irina Asanova (@IrinaAsanova1) reported

@smudge_green @Optus This is what I can’t understand. If someone steals (or commits fraud on) my credit card, I simply call my bank & they cancel my credit card and issue me with a new one. Why can’t Optus do this with phone numbers?
