“the first step to occur will be directing Optus to hand over customer data to the banks so financial institutions can upgrade security and monitor customers who’ve had their personal details stolen.” ABC data surveillance ideology= Gov making more rules to fix existing rules 🤡

I'm an #Optus customer, so if a hacker now has my #Optus email address, all I have to do is change to Telstra, or other Server and voila...one problem is solved! 🙌🙌🙌

@CaraMia200 I haven't been an Optus customer for over a decade but they never closed down my Optus email account

@theage Why do you have to produce such documents for a mobile phone service when not even buying the phone? People with disabilities have difficulty with the two factor ID required for the Optus app. Optus insists on Direct Debit and now has compromised security with their over reach.

Since having been an Optus customer I've got new address, new (different state) driving license, different credit card & I think a new passport. I even have new suite of account passwords too. Only thing that's the same is phone & email. So don't think I'm majorly at risk tbh.

@Miguel224512091 @Optus @GladysB Would NEVER go to Telstra!!! I’m thinking Vodaphone. It’s bigger than Optus and Telstra!

As someone who might be a part of #Optusleak, when does #OptusClassActionLawsuit begin? Maybe getting this going will get @Optus to pay attention and do something to help it's customers

@eykhof @Optus I never respond to them. Apparently they are meant to delete the data after 2 years but they haven't.

@loz_obi @Jeremy_Kirk @OAICgov One problem is the yearly external audit where Optus staff must prove they followed processes such as checking customers have valid ID, like licence & passport. That's why this stuff is stored.
