Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ssharwood Simon Sharwood (@ssharwood) reported

Call from elderly relative who is an @optus customer. Confused and worried by a TXT about their data in the #OptusHack. Msg arrived after Optus said all impacted customers had been notified.

  • gregorycuau Gregory Currie (@gregorycuau) reported

@CyberGovAU If Optus rings someone to speak with them regarding the beach, how can the customer know they are really speaking to Optus?

  • PetraElliott Time Traveller then/now (@PetraElliott) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@davenlamb Yep. Same wording. Granted i haven’t been a customer of optus in just shy of 20 years. So I wouldn’t be on a current mailing list. But my date of birth and phone number hasn’t changed in that time and I obviously can’t change/get a new DOB. It’s just super poor form overall

  • afbutt Ahmed Farooq Butt (@afbutt) reported

@therebelrise Oh wow that must feel bad. I used to work with Telstra and had people moving back and forth different providers and Optus was the preferred provider, not sure how they'll compensate as apology is just not enough.

  • curiouslyem Emily Claire (@curiouslyem) reported

@Jarrod_The_Hat @Optus The amount of times I’ve screamed ‘the audacity’ at this situation. Probably one time per customer impacted.

  • PaulChr30241052 Stumpy (@PaulChr30241052) reported

I believe my passport expired close to 20 years ago. Surely a cursory check would have revealed that I am still an @Optus customer & how long do these companies hold on to our data in any case?

  • chdyctt KB 🐈 (@chdyctt) reported

@RobertCawood2 I still have heard a thing from optus. They are well overdue to address their entire customer base.

  • EndreszAllan Allan Endresz (@EndreszAllan) reported

@SkyNewsAust Would not have had this problem if Optus used Splitlock technology. Never mind.

  • NomessTess Don't Mess With Tess💉💉💉 (@NomessTess) reported

@hossieho @optus customer communication has been feckin HOPELESS in all this. I'm a customer of 23 years and for the first time I considering changing providers!

  • afbutt Ahmed Farooq Butt (@afbutt) reported

@therebelrise I was never able to get Optus right from uni days, i forgot my passport once and first time I didn't have uni card ready back, wow who would have thought :(
