I might be the only person unaffected by the Optus hack because I had Optus ADSL in a share house in 2006 and it sucked so bad I swore I would never use Optus again

@Optus @RunnerSA18 This is the world we're in, but - i'm an former customer of Optus. Why do you even RETAIN (sensitive?) information of ex-customers?!!!

Just spoke to @abcnews about the Optus data breach. There is no such thing as human error. There are only systems failures. It should not have been possible for a single human making a single mistake to cause this much damage. #optusfail

@SWF_946 @Optus Dare say they’ll likely only contact impacted customers but a customer wide email just simply acknowledging the situation goes a long way. Rcvd nothing yet, not even a notification when opening up their app.

Looking through the Optus hack, that is a massive oof. But why isn't **** and test network separated? Even my baokao has seperate **** and test dbs lmao and none of it is critical. And how do you accidentally expose an API? Permissions? Network segmentation? Firewalls?! Ugh

@abcnews It's not only human error. Optus should not need to keep a record of driver's licence & passport numbers. Once a customer's details have been verified they could then just have just a reference number & delete those numbers. That is a system error.

@stevosplace01 @cameronwilson Ugh, I don't know....my first phone was with Telstra & they were so awful I changed to Optus & haven't had any issues for nearly 20 years up until now 😮💨 they're the only 2 options really, so not sure what to do.... How do you know you've been breached?

Optus wasn't attacked, Optus left a test network open to the public, that's negligence. A five year old could of stumbled across the url. #auspol
