  @strangerous10 And they pushed back at global roaming as well. Happens as a default in most countries. Would save a lot of problems if Telstra or Optus shared their networks when network problems arose with any communications provider in Australia 🇦🇺 @AlboMP

  Why is it the USA can communicate with a space ship circulating the moon but Australia has such a hard job communicating with a ******* train just around the corner.. Because of this useless waste of space Anita Wells…. WHY is Australia STILL relying on just a single network for the train networks and 000 and a host of so many essential infrastructure ?? WHY hasn’t our government, especially after the Optus outages just changed the laws to the filthy rich telecommunications companies that they have to combine both networks together for things of major importance to the running of the country ?? 000 and train networks. You want a communications licence… fix the bloody thing so at least BOTH Telstra and Optus are both responsible for the safety of Australia and every Australian.. @AngusTaylorMP @PaulineHansonOz

  How many times in the past 3 years have telecommication services in Australia been disrupted? #Telstra #Optus More evidence which strongly suggests Telstra and Optus aren't up to it. Lack of investment in infrastructure? #StarLink is winning more customers because of these lack lustre telcos. Telstra has suffered an outage that disrupted calls, mobile data and some Triple Zero calls across the country after reports of the problem emerged on Wednesday morning. The telecommunications company, which has apologised to its customers, has said its CEO Vicki Brady was on annual leave.

  @TonyShepherd4 As the shadow minister for emergency communications it is great she tested the system. It was supposed to switch to another network (e.g. Telstra to Optus) in case of an outage of one of them. That didn't occur and she found a fault there. I expect my elected parliamentarians to test the systems they have a portfolio of. By the way, as soon as Teltra asked her not to test it again, she stopped. Good try there, though, but again, you landed well short of common sense.

  @FranMooMoo I wonder if his satellites can be used for mobile phone network? Mobile phone calls and text messages don't use much bandwidth unlike the internet, if he were to somehow make phones and they worked everywhere even in the desert Telstra Vodaphone, and Optus would go bust

  @EVERALDATLARGE Agree Everald. Yes there was a system fault, and yes 000 Failed. And Yes after the Optus problems the Labor Minister for Communication put in place to hopefully fix the problem. Calling for government to leave is a bridge too far. It will take time to fix. It’s not down every day
