Dutton was going pretty well in this presser, until he started blaming the govt for the #optus mess .. it was his former govt that allowed private corporations to require personal details like medicare and passports to open a phone account, how stupid was that

@PaulFletcherMP Maybe you should be apologising to all those people affected by the Optus Hack you dodgy idiot!! Not a Communications Minister’s Arsehole!!

  • tungchwan Kim (@tungchwan) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was a customer until 2019, been notified that no documents have been affected. Name, address, tel no., email, DOB. That information is easily available from other sources so I'm happy with the response from Optus.

  • wheels002 Kerrie B (@wheels002) reported

@daninetherclift @VickiPlatt5 @Optus I left them some years back and received an email informing me of the data breach etc a few days ago. I know I’d never use them again.

  • TaxpayersParty David Collett (@TaxpayersParty) reported

@cameronleech @FinancialReview If Aus banks demand passport numbers before they process a direct debit for an Optus customer, then yes, the details need to be internet facing Otherwise, name a specific transaction Optus needs to do with another institution or entity involving those details Or keep it offline

  • Sean90142235 Sean (@Sean90142235) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I had to re-register my account with Optus and create a new password, it was a real pain in the backside it took 45 minutes because of Optus's crap website.
