  • blue01dragonfly MrSmith2022 (@blue01dragonfly) reported

10,000 Optus customer's details have been leaked online by the cyber criminal/s. Apparently, they will continue to post more every day. Passports, drivers licence, residential address... a serious worry!

  • shaexlily Shae (@shaexlily) reported

@alanadelgray Ugh yeah that’s so bad!! There are a few articles flying around with steps you can take to help but it’s just shocking that Optus haven’t actually provided any advice

  • JaikulaFreedom Jaikula Freedom (@JaikulaFreedom) reported

@bengrubb @gilfer @Jeremy_Kirk Actually not completely true with 2FA, also they are moving away from SMS 2FA with myGov due to the issues with Telco's, such as Optus, allowing eSim transfer of a number. myGov uses its own code generator or myGovID, the latter being pushed more.

  • SeigeCeej ⭐️⭐️⭐️Ceej⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@SeigeCeej) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@SammySatine As an Optus customer I am worried .. but I can change passwords and cancel things if I must and put blocks on all things

  • mcoomaraswamy Mohan Coomaraswamy (@mcoomaraswamy) reported

@NourHaydar data breach in one of OPTUS multiple database servers protected with SSL Secure Socket layer Encryption may have broken down opening door for hackers to enter.

  • adampulford Adam Pulford (@adampulford) reported

I was an Optus customer up until 2019 I think and I haven’t heard from them at all, so I’m unclear whether my data is involved or not. I’m feeling for the 10K people whose personal data has been released online. This is a huge huge mess and Optus needs to get its **** together

  • macattackmel Mel (@macattackmel) reported

@BecL87 @Optus Worst in the world I reckon! I mean I’ve used some of the ones in the US and they’ve got it all over Optus! The sooner they’re gone the better!

  • ScorpioOx61 Bren by the Sea (@ScorpioOx61) reported

I received my #OptusHack email last wk. Ironically I rang @Optus a month ago to disconnect due to overcharging & poor customer "service". SO glad I took the $15 monthly bribe to STAY! Talk about bad timing AND a guy in #Optus Customer Retention who deserves a medal (more so NOW!)

  • digitaltasmania Digital Tasmania (@digitaltasmania) reported

First large dump of Optus customer data (which was stolen/openly accessible) contains details of over 100 Tasmanian customers… according to sources who have seen the data. #politas #OptusHack #10,000

  • ProfAvanzi Benjamin Avanzi (@ProfAvanzi) reported

@Optus @databreach : why did Optus need to keep 100 points worth of personal information? Surely the risks should outweigh the costs of re-obtaining the information when needed. Should laws restrict the ability for companies to keep that much customer data?
