I received two separate #optus emails two days apart. One sent as a current customer, stating my ID exposed. The second, to me as a “former customer”, to an old email account, states my ID not exposed. Just how far back does #optushack data go?

  • Bombersteve BomberSteve (@Bombersteve) reported

@ShereeJohns I left Telstra for Optus 😳. Telstra takes some beating as far as crap organisations go. Up with Jetstar imo.

@RonniSalt @Optus Usually, as part of a major incident like this, they would bring in a specialist crisis management team. But yeah, either they didn't or they aren't listening to them. Or they didn't hire a good one.

  • noelie091954 Noel (@noelie091954) reported

@RonniSalt @xskinn @Optus Companies in a self created crisis these days don’t have to look too far to find a solution….just hire an ad agency to run a few jingoistic ads on tv.. problem solved!

  • bloominspring1 Michelle 💉💉💉 (@bloominspring1) reported

@redruby17 @ClareONeilMP @Optus Yes!!! I'm a current customer but received an email stating "as a former Optus customer"... So... Does that mean my current details are actually ok?

@hughriminton Why should the Tax Payer pay 4 Optus's cyber mistakes bcs of their own Incompetence Optus created the problem by allowing hackers 2 access data thru low levels of security Replacing ppl passports & drivers licences should be charged bck 2 Optus Why should the Gov pay?

  • BryanWi62261195 Bryan Williams (@BryanWi62261195) reported

@mariewalsh18 Optus sent an email to tell me the bad news.

  • p_narelle Narelle P (@p_narelle) reported

@mariewalsh18 Contacted yesterday by Optus, they are not being upfront regarding Medicare number etc. Interestingly My Gov is having issues, 1000's of users are unable to log in, it is an unofficial urgent issue. Be interested to know anyone else that is having a My Gov issue issue

  • dwightwalker Dwight Walker (@dwightwalker) reported

this #databreach is a major stuff up of @optus - totally disorganised - I can't communicate with them as past customer except by reply to CEO email or visiting a shop (they'll want photo ID again) - they should have #encrypted my #data not just kept it unencrypted for years

  • Not_4_Long On Hold-But (@Not_4_Long) reported

Optus: do you have a 100 points identification? A customer: well, do you have any point of identification?
