The way this game was monetized was very fair to the consumer, but not sustainable in the eyes of money hungry amazon. Creating and maintaining a live service MMO is a money pit and new world wasn’t bring in the $$$.

The constant creation and merging of servers instead of system overhauls was just one of the things that turned me off.

People were doubting the profitability of the game since forever. Tons of bugs and issues went unfixed since launch and still are. The game always had potential but they never did reach it.

I thought maybe they would have shut it down years ago but to release this huge new update and make a solid effort to fix a lot of the issues with the game only to rugpull everyone is baffling.
