  @BrynnBumfuzzle @playnewworld I’ve been playing this game for ages, almost 7k hrs During Season 10, I was a bit late exploring the world because of queue issues. Didn’t even get to try all the content yet, and then out of nowhere AGS goes, “Surprise! This is the final season!” 😑

  @playnewworld I think the subscription model is the way forward for MMOs. The way this game was monetized was very fair to the consumer, but not sustainable in the eyes of money hungry amazon. Creating and maintaining a live service MMO is a money pit and new world wasn’t bring in the $$$.

  @playnewworld For us aussies Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), digital games must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description/promises (e.g., ongoing live-service MMO).If a shutdown makes it unfit/unplayable contrary to what was promised, it's a potential major failure → entitling refund/replacement (overrides "no refund" policies).

  @playnewworld So basically they are shutting the servers down at the end of 2026 but still allowing people to make in game purchases of their "premium" currency. Unreal.

  I think with the announcement of @playnewworld shutting down i'm in a place where im done sparing peoples feelings around it. New world had technical problems but in the end its community sentenced it to death. I played 1400 hours as a PvE

  @playnewworld Seems to be the new trend now with "online service only" games. Remember that all of the money you spend on these games has a 100% guarantee that when the game inevitably DOES SHUT DOWN... you not only lose your time but ALL of the money you invested in the game. 🤑

  I am gutted, deeply sad and in a state of grief. It feels like after 1.7k hours like i've lost a friend. i met amazing people, forged friendships and had many laughter. I assume a live service game does not work anymore, Much like most MMOs. @playnewworld

  @playnewworld You really should do atleast half the amount of $ refunded back. I bought this game once and refunded when you watered it down and changed design plans. Bought it again to see if you would fix it even bought it for someone else.

  @bswagz88 @playnewworld This game still had a healthy player base. The issue comes down to Amazon owning it. They have no idea what they're doing in the gaming space and they're soulless, only looking at cost/benefit. Now that tech is cutting fat, it was inevitable the floundering game division would be cut

  @BagginsTV @playnewworld What profit? The game made zero money in 5 years? I'd pull the plug too. This was the same dev team the entire life cycle. Same leadership except homeboy left. They had 5 years of free reign from Amazon and failed. That's a development problem that led to a corporate problem.
