The engine the devs were forced the use was a mess of spaghetti code (which is what caused a significant number of the bugs and issues) and they had Amazon execs stifling every creative choice they wanted to make in the name of maximising profit. Many, many things were mishandled throughout this game's life, and there is a whole lot of things that could and should've been better, but I'll die on the hill that the core dev team - the creatives, vfx artists, etc and the developers, system/mechanics/combat designers etc, were not the issue.

When Stadia ended Google refunded everyone for every game they bought, every month they were subscribed to the service, AND they even refunded hardware bought

And you have to leave the raid and restart the instance, and you have to kill the beginning adds again. I'm not sure if you all know, but the fix you guys did was not working at all. Needs to be fixed! @playnewworld

The game is literally unplayable and no it’s not my connection I have wired gigabit internet 🤦🏻

Then comes along AI which will fix absolutely nothing but is CHEAP and there you go. Suits see money money money.

Spam (@Spamsum) reported@LSXYZ9 @playnewworld combat and social elements were great (but lots of drama) but honestly it was clear that the devs didn't play their own game. many systems didnt work, things would break patch to patch and then be left broken for months at a time. VERY frustrating for the playerbase

The constant creation and merging of servers instead of system overhauls was just one of the things that turned me off.

Didn’t even get to try all the content yet, and then out of nowhere AGS goes, “Surprise! This is the final season!” 😑
