People were doubting the profitability of the game since forever. Tons of bugs and issues went unfixed since launch and still are. The game always had potential but they never did reach it.

Captain Killjoy (@earsinajar) reported@YaBoiWiilly @playnewworld We no lifed the game for weeks until it became clear they couldn't fix the unplayable lag in endgame. Never made sense to me that the World PvP was so good but then it's all decided in an INSTANCED zone that didn't work.

The game had its issues, but for me personally it was a perfect blend of everything I enjoy about an MMO and was really laid back. I’ve never been a min/maxed or hardcore PvP player though and I noticed most people that I saw complaining were hardcore PvP driven and the type to rush through content and then complain there wasn’t any.

The game is literally unplayable and no it’s not my connection I have wired gigabit internet 🤦🏻

Spencer (@iSpencerEdwards) reported@playnewworld I think the subscription model is the way forward for MMOs. The way this game was monetized was very fair to the consumer, but not sustainable in the eyes of money hungry amazon. Creating and maintaining a live service MMO is a money pit and new world wasn’t bring in the $$$.
