Help needed from the tech nerds please! If I change my NBN provider due to a better deal, do I need a new modem? Are they "locked" similar to mobile phones? First NBN company included a modem as part of the deal. Can I use it if I change providers? TIA. 🙏

@NBN_Australia what’s happening now the internet was working for a day in goowla beach 5214 now it’s down again. I checked the status and it says unplanned outage like it did a few days ago. I thought you had fixed the problem ?

@tigerpops69 Hi Peter, we know how frustrating outages can be. An unplanned outage means something other than scheduled maintenance is currently affecting your service. For example, a third party may have accidentally damaged underground cables or other nbn assets. 1/2

  • AlexWildeShots Alex (@AlexWildeShots) reported

to clarify the reason i say its affecting only TPG clients is because I have tested this site on multiple TPG nbn links and exetel and IINET and optus and the only common factor is when TPG is the ISP it I believe it to be a routing issue on their network

@DGoliath2 @The_Real_Joakim @Anthonywodillon Oh, I know for a fact that you've never ever been away from the major population centers in this country. Because you don't seem to realize that the nbn doesn't work out of town. Not unless you're way down south somewhere in the major population centers.

  • maz_net_au Maz (@maz_net_au) reported

@NBN_Australia The fault is that NBN is selling me fixed line internet over 40 year old copper phone lines nailed to trees and has no plan to upgrade it at all, then quoted me more than $32k to build your network for you.

@holy_schnitt for aussies if you have a problem with your electronics or NBN just go on whirpool

  • Tigerwhite1977 Paul White (@Tigerwhite1977) reported

@LachlanB_ Clarification: the hew property did t have an NBN box so it was sent out by the provider. Still using the original modem we had previously with no issues
