@DuhigLisa @NBN_Australia @Telstra I actually love having the business run from hone. Been doing it for years and have a dedicated office. Constant issues with the NBN though really hurt and you are powerless to do anything. Into day 2 of no work, about to head to Telstra.

  • NigelBill
Nigel Mullen (@NigelBill) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@exetel @chuggins9000 @NBN_Australia Thanks Rehan, but it is not an Exetel problem, all my neighbours have the same problem. NBN Co decided not to deluver high speed internet infrastucture to our Adamstown Heights area.

  • DrCraigGedye
Craig Gedye (@DrCraigGedye) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Internode once again our @NBN_Australia connection is out because it has rained. Please fix the physical connection to our house. It is NOT a problem in our house. It is a problem with your ancient corroded copper network. Please repair immediately.

@factanonverba69 but the second biggest failure was Malcolm’s fibre to the node NBN network

@NBN_Australia @duolingo Keeps dropping out. I'm on my phone atm to reply to this. Been doing it the last couple of days. No good for browsing or doing Duolingo let alone streaming (either up or down)

@NBN_Australia that’d be great if every day from 2pm-11pm the wifi wasn’t so unbearably slow that I can’t even load a webpage. I went to South Korea and it really gave a perspective as to how horrifyingly slow NBN is

  • njubi_eric
Njubi Ng’ang’a 🇰🇪 (@njubi_eric) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

I moved into #Telstra 7 days ago and I promise you their nbn is the worst. Speeds of 7 mbps is just unheard of. Piece of advice to anyone planning to join Telstra DON’T

  • adlrope
Adam Rope (reality is stranger than fiction) (@adlrope) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Qldaah @Telstra David, if have nbn connection then Telstra only service provider. nbn co own & maintain network. Telstra technical support can investigate but if underlying issue is network, nbn co responsible. If nbn co state 'no fault found', then service provider no power coerce nbn action

  • NigelBill
Nigel Mullen (@NigelBill) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@NBN_Australia It is not a fault. It is a NBN design issue. If a house is 1.2km in cable length from a Node, can they expect 80mb or more in connection speed. Very simple yes/no answer is all that is required.

  • ian_booth

Farrrrrrkk! When Fifield is questioned about the price of #NBN packages the best he can come up with is "they would cost more under Labor". It just rolls off their tongue so easily. "Take longer under Labor ", "cost more under Labor" and they're never questioned. Shits me.

  • gjblue
Greg Blue (@gjblue) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@JaneCaro @Telstra The whole nbn is a joke, mate who works for them told me ours will never be any good because the copper goes thru a flooded pit at the end of our street.

  • MansfieldOwen

@robb_j_m What type of connection do you have? Anything with the copper in it such as fttn, fttc and HFC are allowed to drop out about 5 times per day and nbn don't consider it a fault. Fttp is much more reliable and only drops if there's network maintenance

  • panzer_VI

@eevblog If that is the mobile plan you bought, TBH it was to be expected. Every NBN customer in that same are is looking for an easy temporary solution......

  • ScarabOfficial
    Scarab (@ScarabOfficial) reported

@THATS_RIGHT_YA @robb_j_m That download ping is faulty. Should be more like 20. Could be your computer, NIC, browser, or modem/router (and its settings). If you are with TPG you can log into your account and do an NBN test, which will check the line, and they'll contact you if there's a problem.

  • ArealHughes
    Tony Hughes (@ArealHughes) reported

@AlanBixter Our communications infrastructure system is not good enough. After the Turnbull NBN debacle and massive cost blowouts we still have inferior IT infrastructure. My internet is slow but works OK, however ph reception is woeful and I'm 40'ks from the coast of seventh largest city.

  • osborne_sam
    Samuel ⏳ (@osborne_sam) reported

@ItsMissShorty @robb_j_m Just want to help you with your terminology. Wifi (802.11x) is free, it’s the technology between the router/modem and your device. NBN or Internet service provider is the ongoing cost. You can use NBN and not use Wifi, you plug a network cable between the router and your computer. If you hotspot your phone or have a 5G hotspot device, that still uses Wifi between that device and the other devices connected to it. You’re still using Wifi if you have multiple devices using the mobile data. All you’ve changed is the internet connection from being NBN (which is typically fibre, phone line, or point to point wireless (not WiFi) - and maybe the latter is what you go rid of and have conflated the two different wireless technologies. Considering you are likely still using Wifi, and now also 5G, health benefits aren’t improved. A healthier alternative is NBN or Starlink and cable connection (but obviously phones and many devices don’t support cables).

  • Michael44814776
    Michael Brennan (@Michael44814776) reported

No, nbn has cost far more due to LNP. LNP original costing: Promised $29.5B (2013 election); revised to $41B in Strategic Review. The evidence is that in the caucus , as detailed in Turnbull’s book, Abbott simply wanted LNP to be contrarian about nbn. They stopped the fibre rollout and replaced it with copper. At the time, LNPs message that nbn would go over budget was favoured due to a complicit media. For instance, when the ABC science editor did a comprehensive comparison between labour’s FTTP and LNP copper, the report was spiked until after the election, due to ABC management wanting to appease LNP. Then, under LNP, ABC did not have a science editor. Consider the subsequent dearth of reporting by ABC in following years about the biggest infrastructure project ever. Consider that Turnbull appointed a former business associate to be chair of ABC whilst a Director of NBN snd whilst a ceo of a supplier to NBN with a $100m contract for design and fabrication of copper based distribution boxes, which have subsequently been removed. So there is no surprise that the public were force fed the line that all that glitters is copper. The reality set in when the deterioration of the copper network became apparent to punters. The cost of NBN is now at approx $50B with $54B to 2030 to due to the replacement costs of LNPs copper systems with fibre. So Abbott and Turnbull cost the country many billions not to mention the years of misery and lost productivity by prolonging the copper network.

@cjoye Sell the NBN? Yeah because when we sold the electricity network, that worked out well for prices. Bringing CGT in line with tax on wages is going to be one of the fairest tax decisions made. Nothing will change otherwise businesses would have left for a tax haven already.

  • RalphGarcia305
    Ralph (@RalphGarcia305) reported

@Aquariuslonn @Cheamane That’s fair and understandable. I never cared for Eazy/NBN collabs - he doesn’t sound right on those beats and the way Treach had to dumb down the flow/cadbece so Eazy could rap them just didn’t sound good to me

@highbrow_nobrow @Acyn Can we put this charlatan on mute. His NBN fix was a disaster. His hydro scheme also a disaster. Shut up Malcom. You are clearly an imbecile.
