My Telstra nbn broadband network has been down all day from an alleged cyber attack

  • njubi_eric Njubi Ng’ang’a 🇰🇪 (@njubi_eric) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

I moved into #Telstra 7 days ago and I promise you their nbn is the worst. Speeds of 7 mbps is just unheard of. Piece of advice to anyone planning to join Telstra DON’T

  • gregorymckenna Greg McKenna (@gregorymckenna) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@hef_mark I’ve been running off my phone with no problems while kids doing online classes on NBN - no issues at all 👍

  • RoyanWg Billy back in the black n broke HALLELUJAH (@RoyanWg) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@LesStonehouse Nothing about the shit NBN that the LNP/IPA Government has foisted upon the public instead of the world leading broadband it was supposed to be we are left with the inadequate bastardized system that Malcolm Turnbull/Abbott gave us

  • fat_lenny Lenny (@fat_lenny) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@DuhigLisa @NBN_Australia @Telstra I actually love having the business run from hone. Been doing it for years and have a dedicated office. Constant issues with the NBN though really hurt and you are powerless to do anything. Into day 2 of no work, about to head to Telstra.

  • adlrope Adam Rope (reality is stranger than fiction) (@adlrope) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Qldaah @Telstra David, if have nbn connection then Telstra only service provider. nbn co own & maintain network. Telstra technical support can investigate but if underlying issue is network, nbn co responsible. If nbn co state 'no fault found', then service provider no power coerce nbn action

  • lazytraveldays Lazy Travel Days ✈️ ⛴ 🚘 (@lazytraveldays) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@adamajacoby NBN intentionality shit to benefit Murdoch

  • NigelBill Nigel Mullen (@NigelBill) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@exetel @chuggins9000 @NBN_Australia Thanks Rehan, but it is not an Exetel problem, all my neighbours have the same problem. NBN Co decided not to deluver high speed internet infrastucture to our Adamstown Heights area.

  • NigelBill Nigel Mullen (@NigelBill) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia It is not a fault. It is a NBN design issue. If a house is 1.2km in cable length from a Node, can they expect 80mb or more in connection speed. Very simple yes/no answer is all that is required.

  • DrCraigGedye Craig Gedye (@DrCraigGedye) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Internode once again our @NBN_Australia connection is out because it has rained. Please fix the physical connection to our house. It is NOT a problem in our house. It is a problem with your ancient corroded copper network. Please repair immediately.

  • wifidownunder Aaron Scott (@wifidownunder) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

Another 12hr outage from @telstra NBN. This is ridiculous. Maybe at some point I’ll have internet again.

  • gjblue Greg Blue (@gjblue) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@JaneCaro @Telstra The whole nbn is a joke, mate who works for them told me ours will never be any good because the copper goes thru a flooded pit at the end of our street.

  • ian_booth Ian Booth (@ian_booth) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

Farrrrrrkk! When Fifield is questioned about the price of #NBN packages the best he can come up with is "they would cost more under Labor". It just rolls off their tongue so easily. "Take longer under Labor ", "cost more under Labor" and they're never questioned. Shits me.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
  • AusRob ☢ ISO 2020 (@AusRob) reported

@PaulFletcherMP @NBN_Australia So glad the company is in a strong position while the network is a piling heap of mismatched and legacy technologies whilst Australians have some of the worst broadband speeds of first world nations (and continue to fall behind!). Great plan, Paul. #fraudband #auspol

  • KevMCar Kevin Carter (@KevMCar) reported

@InsidersABC @PhillipCoorey "NBN will only build the expensive fibre lead-in (to a premises) if and when a customer orders a higher speed plan” So will every street get fibre so we can all make this decision - role of gov is to ensure poorly serviced areas get access - market will look after high demand

  • WazT555 Wazza (@WazT555) reported from Westfield, State of Western Australia

Fkn lol! They’re going to “upgrade” the fail nbn & make it more like what it shoulda been originally! Like if we had Labour in govt... Maybe, we’ll actually get decent internet?! Not going to hold mah breath though.

  • PeterWi05879624 Peter Williams (@PeterWi05879624) reported

@GrogsGamut Or is this new initiative due to the fact Rupert's FoxTel is shifting to a network streaming model and a viable NBN is now essential to the business model instead of being a threat (due to NetFlix, etc)?

  • possumbilly Possumbilly (@possumbilly) reported

Old NBN is not fast enough? existing network Isn't complete Have to retrofit. Hide public infrast spending under COVID. Gas recovery, sport rorts, Badgerys Creek Airport. No scruples, liers, shift blame. Now my duty to my grandchildren to actively work to get ALP/Greens elected.

  • bradthegunn 🏴‍☠️ (@bradthegunn) reported

@PaulFletcherMP @NBN_Australia Accelerated plan to go back 7 years and fix your mess! #lying #lidfilth

  • AltoCarol Caz (@AltoCarol) reported

@profesterman Keep waiting - it's utter crap. Had a good cable service, now NBN. Slow & patchy.

  • lunchbox651 Lunchbox651 (@lunchbox651) reported

@PaulFletcherMP @NBN_Australia Rolling out pure fibre would have been just as close to completion. Giving us a joke of a network that cost nearly as much as FTTP coming up to Covid isn't good. The congestion of the network, inconsistency in copper. Pathetic.

  • warwickpauld Ancient IT Geek 😢 (@warwickpauld) reported

If we had a real fibre NBN we could take down all those television and radio transmission towers saving the ABC and other media companies billions #auspol (yes I know they don’t directly own the towers but pay to use them)

  • meredith3129 Meredith Jones (@meredith3129) reported

LNP botched the NBN, it was going to be too expensive, so they cut costs, now it needs upgrading (after they just finished installing it) & so they’re throwing billions to fix their mistake, but suddenly their solution is almost identical to the ALPs initial plan @MrKRudd #auspol
