@NBN_Australia the NBN is down in my street can you please fix it, it’s been down for 2 days. Out of the 6 days we have had it I would say it goes down 35% of the time.

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@RuseBGZs @hallowedthrone I just set up the nbn box and modem and all that and it went from 100mbps down and 4mbps up to 40mbps down and like 20mbps up and the cable/new Antenna thing hasn’t even been installed yet so... yeah :3..

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@ajpalm NBN’s woes have mostly been the result of a bad business model from day one. That aspect has never been addressed by anyone either. That business model was never going to deliver the promised network

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NewtonMark @wibbly @NBN_Australia It’s been broken from the day it was conceived and was never going to deliver the network it originally promised. Everyone is caught up on blaming each other over the connection type while ignoring the massive elephant in the room.

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@p4ndr_ @NewtonMark @wibbly @NBN_Australia The business model they created was never going to build the network that was promised.

  • pfbt Marquis d'Killara (@pfbt) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

While gov’t bodies force more & more transactions online while offering no alternative, there will be many who will not be able to afford the NBN (some effing service .. not) @NBNAustralia

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@vogrady2132 @GeorgeBludger If you can get 100....I pay for 100 but get 43 @ best.......NBN totally stuffed up by LNP Government with help from Murdoch......watch the cost taxpayers will pay to fix & LNP will walk away scott free

  • heathgargit Heath Gargit (@heathgargit) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

My colleague is leaving the country in ten days. He rang up fl-@Optus yesterday and asked them to cancel his services on the day before he left. Of course, an hour later his nbn was not working.

  • TomRagen Tom Ragen (@TomRagen) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Telcos @Telstra & @Optus are looking under the lead of the @NBN_Australia to charge people more for the use of streaming videos services! #No! Absolutely not! We are already paying for internet service. If you add this new charges it’s a ***** money grab! #WTF

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@BDC8495 There is no issue. The CVC is an NBN restriction on speed even though there’s a gig interface in my garage

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@wibbly @NewtonMark @NBN_Australia Yep. Bursting costs the network nothing, just using existing capability when it isn’t being utilised.

  • p_terg 🔥₽๎ᝤᶒя ᶢ ᶃเ𐤄𐤄ᦳ𐌏ᠡ💧 (@p_terg) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Kathblue @Telstra We had a grey box too. Our current internet is 100mbps through the Foxtel infrastructure. They’re using that same infrastructure to supply the nbn(tm) and I have just agreed to go with @telstra bc they could provide nbn(tm) with same service as current cable internet #winning

  • grantcairns Grant Cairns (@grantcairns) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@charlietech @Optus @NBN_Australia We had the same experience and @Optus even sent us a payment reminder after service cut off.

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia @iTnews_au Start by un-breaking the existing failed commercial model then, rather than doubling down on the mistakes.

  • scott_thewspot Scott (@scott_thewspot) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@dgaust @niall_bigscreen The increase in PoPs that was forced on the NBN was bad, and the decisions around CVC pricing should have been revised by Labor in the early days.

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NickRossTech @LJPatton @SaysSmithy @NBN_Australia @TurnbullMalcolm It never was going to work when LNP/IPA/MURDOCH interferred & destroyed Labors plan...& they were warned again & again...so now costs to fix will again be borne by taxpayers & it will be in the many billions. NBN will have to be written down b4 decent access prices are available

  • atrueblueaussie Shout it👇🏿Out 👇🏿 (@atrueblueaussie) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • OmarKA190 Omar (@OmarKA190) reported

@MominISheikh despite having a national network, some areas don’t have NBN. For example, my suburb was developed by a private developer, and they granted exclusive broadband rights to a company called OptiComm. OptiComm offers limited ISPs to choose from and people are willing to pay for

  • Jason2Wazza JasonWazza (@Jason2Wazza) reported

@Kris_etc_ Australian internet is only crappy if you got any version of the LNP NBN. Fiber to the home is really good. Fiber to the node can either be really good or bad (proximity to the node, if your next to the node you basically get the FTTH quality) Anything else is bad.

  • JaredKingsfordB Hazlewood's Side-strain🏏🏆🏉 (@JaredKingsfordB) reported

@Kris_etc_ @russ61 It doesn't help that we're such a large land mass, with many people scattered over a large area. So telecommunications infrastructure costs so much more. Also, Howard and Turnbull rooted the original NBN plan.

  • kevcabana Kevin (@kevcabana) reported

@Kris_etc_ Cause pre NBN the LNP watered down the alps version of future internet.

  • Suzeme Suzeme 🕯 (@Suzeme) reported

@Kris_etc_ I’m still salty about the buggered up NBN. Should be one fixed price at the fastest possible speed. We changed providers 6 months ago, 250Mbps per second with 5 free upgrade days a month with speeds up to 1000Mbps. So that’s not too bad

  • adlrope Adam Rope (reality is stranger than fiction) (@adlrope) reported

@BazzaCC @Telstra Are you on copper, or @NBN_Australia ? If it's the latter, then the service providers have their hands tied, because NBN own and maintain the network now. If fault is on nbn network, then nbn is party responsible for repair. Service providers are not allowed to repair now.

  • JezJerro Jeremy Mitchell (@JezJerro) reported

@25MMCC @Kris_etc_ True, and from memory even deeper roots in Howard's (the root of so many evils) privatisation of Telstra - the NBN original FTTP (higher speed) plan threatened the profits of shareholders (aka Howard's mates) in the copper network

  • B84Paul Paul B (@B84Paul) reported

How can you be confident that Kuiper will be faster? Amazon's plans seem to be targeting a similar performance to the current starlink service, but SpaceX is upgrading the satellites and aiming ultimately for multi gbps speeds. NBN's service is subsidised. There's nothing stopping them from subsidising starlink access.

  • jeffreys_jake Jake Jeffreys (@jeffreys_jake) reported

@BazzaCC @Telstra Same here Bazza. I've gone from average signal to nothing,I'm losing work out of it,all work allocations are done online. My neighbour went and complained, they convinced her to' Upgrade to NBN,get a home modem,,,,at another $40+ to her bill. Bullshit con #Telstra.

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@threedogsonekid @QuentinDempster Except that Kuiper is designed for gigabit service not 25Mbps you state. The NBN satellite service does 100Mbps now.
