NBN Issues Reports Near Appin, State of New South Wales

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Appin and nearby locations:

  • jayohaychen john foster (@jayohaychen) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Hey @NBN_Australia I hope no one removes your internet connection today without letting you know in advance. That would really be unfortunate. A 9.5 hr outage on a Friday would kill productivity.

  • hitinman Just Davo (@hitinman) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Well we had #NBN For all of 5hrs and 20mins today after a 24hour drop out. Losing count on service disruptions now. Provider cannot or will not resolve with #NBN #Aussiebroadband.

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@hipstergeddon @gusworldau @NBN_Australia The issue there is that no end-user is actually a direct customer of NBN. RSPs are NBN's customers. End-users are the RSP's customers.

  • MikeySlezak Michael Slezak (@MikeySlezak) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NickEvershed Countdown until NBN help tweets you with inane comment...

  • ConZ0503 ConZ (@ConZ0503) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus hoping you can help me... My NBN service has stopped working and I can’t make phones calls. Tried calling but the message says you can not answer my call today. Can you please DM me to help

  • thepatrick Patrick Quinn-Graham 🏳️‍🌈 (@thepatrick) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Oh good. Yet another 9 hour outage window for “scheduled maintenance” where the notification arrives after the internet has already gone down. Sure would be nice if @NBN_Australia didn’t do maintenance during the hours most people work.

  • VasquezMcWong Democracy Manifest (@VasquezMcWong) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@EVERALDATLARGE It was always going to be shit with the commercial model and nulber of POIs. Turnbull added an extra dimension of shitness by insisting on reusing dilapidated access infrastructure... at least Rudds shitful NBN concept had some scope for upgrades.

  • fictillius 🦠 Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

He is correct. NBN was broken the day it was conceived.

  • ImogenWrites IMO-ten Joe (@ImogenWrites) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Sorry folks, the NBN has failed me once again and the internet is down. More AC later.

  • JohnLutge John Lutge (@JohnLutge) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@gabriellecj The technical explication is because the NBN is shit.

  • DeanCal Dean O'Callaghan (@DeanCal) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Telstra hi! My NBN service has been down the last 2 hours in Randwick and your outage map doesnt work either when I try that!

  • theorangepeach Defeated Furby (@theorangepeach) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@joshh_dp @daddy_no_ It also done within minutes if you already have NBN - whether it’s node, curb, hfc or fibre - a decent ISP (like AussieBB) can have your service activated within the hour. Fibre just means you can have more than one service at once

  • DeanCal Dean O'Callaghan (@DeanCal) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia I got a text from Telstra to say theres an outage in the area so looks like it's a known issue and is being worked on

  • hitinman Just Davo (@hitinman) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Trouble is with this #NBN SHITTING ITSELF constantly. My daughter relies on it for her Animation work. Having to use her phone as a hotspot is costly and slow. And they want more to work from home. Bet it's going real well... Not.

  • Nick_Billingham Nick Billingham (@Nick_Billingham) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Well. I have a 50mb fiber to node connection via commander and I can’t do effective video and screen sharing Webex conferences with my customers. Tell me why and fix it would make me happy

  • thepatrick Patrick Quinn-Graham 🏳️‍🌈 (@thepatrick) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Not sure if Aussie Broadband or NBN don’t understand what scheduled means, but my definition is that 10 minutes after an outage begins is definitely too late to call it scheduled.

  • fictillius 🦠 Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@ajpalm Nearly all the users I support are on the NBN and across all the fixed technology types. A few were on ADSL and we’ve moved them across to NBN. HFC has some known issues that need fixing but that’s an organisational problem not a problem with the technology.

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@MeckeringBoy @SammieMacM @abcnews It's overpriced, it's not worth $51+bn, it's overvalued, taxpayers pay twice because NBN force RSP's to pay too much, it's too slow, it takes too long to get connected, all thanks to LNP & Murdoch......LNP should have butted out & the "most recent" Minister is out of touch 👎🏾👎🏽👎🏿

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Typical. @NBN_Australia connection down since 4:34pm. Now we have a "Scheduled Outage" from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Conveniently, this stops any "unscheduled outage " timers they might be measured against...

  • _MaverickGeorge G. 🌈❤️☮️ (@_MaverickGeorge) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus hi my nbn is down again this morning. You’re not showing any outages though. It’s becoming a bit of a joke - never know when it’s going to be working.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • RichardfromSyd1 Richard from Sydney 💉💉💉 (@RichardfromSyd1) reported

Right now - the old leadin is not dropping out. So @NBN_Australia is closing any ticket raised by my (rather good) RSP @Aussie_BB asking the work be completed. Apparently NBN thinks just laying a new leadin, without connecting it, fixed the issue Magic! Theater of the absurd.

  • RichardfromSyd1 Richard from Sydney 💉💉💉 (@RichardfromSyd1) reported

@ZBasyouny @Aussie_BB I have been with them since I got cut over to the NBN (currently on "UltraFast" via HFC - routinely get 600 Mbps throughput with Aussie) Made sure Dad signed up with them when he got cut over. Would be lost without them in his terrible FTTC case.

  • twinjastrife Mostly Harmless 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🌺 (@twinjastrife) reported

@RichardfromSyd1 NBN are shocking, worst customer service ever.

  • Optus Optus (@Optus) reported

@mwmur Hi Mike, sorry to hear about your disconnected NBN service, that isn't the most ideal situation. Please feel free to send us a DM and we can look into this further - Jim

  • reparb Red Promos (@reparb) reported

@peter_adderton Agree 100%. Thank you for sharing. Many Telco’s lose the culture by outsourcing to reduce cost as they was too slow to innovate and will die eventually due to lack of customer service and experience. The Tier 1 in AU are struggling as over 600 NBN resellers and MVNO are better.

  • buffcharlemagne Buff Charlemagne (@buffcharlemagne) reported

@linkszxx @OleBrr @JustinWhang oh yeah that as well lmao I had non nbn for four years but somehow managed to get NBN eventually and now speeds aren't too bad.

  • redemptiongiver Murdoch Media are evil 💉💉💉 (@redemptiongiver) reported

@AmyRemeikis @YaThinkN You can do something but it will cost you big time. Usually the biggest problem is when the cable connects to copper at your front lawn. In the short to medium term consider running a 5G mobile hotspot off your mobile. Probably faster than NBN anyway (and more reliable)

  • embilbie 🕊️ also on Mastodon as @embilbie (@embilbie) reported

We all know that NBN Co. would never resource a whole department to *proactively* call its customers to resolve a problem. They'd wait for the customer to contact them. Phone scammers seem to think the NBN is way more customer oriented than it in fact is.

  • civilengineer civilengineer (@civilengineer) reported

@delpjm @AmyRemeikis I subscribe to a 4G service via a mobile device (not phone), purely as a backup for the fixed wireless service that is the only NBN option. It's not great, but at least I have an option, though still 3rd rate.

  • mwmur Mike (@mwmur) reported

Hey @Optus is it your general practice to disconnect someone's NBN service and then be unhelpful in trying to find out why it was done?
