@KayeThetimothy @Telstra I'm having trouble with NBN but hopefully fixed Tuesday...

  • monicasmeow
Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, Victoria

@Henjam48 @JaneCaro @TonyAbbottMHR @NBN_Australia They’ve been set up to fail. Like most entities that are answerable to govt. The person responsible for it all is JWH. Had Telstra not been sold in the first place, it would have continued to upgrade its network and we may not have needed an NBN on the scale the ALP envisaged.

  • DMStormAu
Deon Mackay (@DMStormAu) reported from Inverleigh, Victoria

Nbn Down for maintenance at Inverleigh. That means no Eftpos . No till. No ATM to be able to withdraw cash. Go cashless they say. What a load of ****.

And 3 out of 4 premises are now capable of connecting to the NBN! Well that is at your own risk! It's just more bullshit from government and ISP companies to scam more money from anyone stupid enough to opt for this NBN CRAP!

  • rodneysims
Rod Sims 💉💉 (@rodneysims) reported from Geelong, Victoria

@PaulFletcherMP Paul, I am thankful that my ISP is maintaining its HFC network so that I don’t have to connect to your NBN.

@Vintuitive Must just be that the NBN is shit 😉🤣

@iiNet hey guys just wondering if there is an wide spread outage in the 3216 area (NBN) haven’t got any internet this morning and last night it was on/off

  • KathyReid
Kathy Reid, Servant of House Corgi (@KathyReid) reported from Geelong, Victoria

Summary: we almost-delivered an obsolete network not fit for purpose and now we're struggling with finding a way to make it valuable as a private asset and service our debt, and raise capital to rebuild it post-2020 instead of it being made a public utility #NBN #NBN2

  • cjnetlink
Cory (@cjnetlink) reported from Geelong, Victoria

Why is @3AW693 targeting @Telstra about the NBN and how it’ll cope with the increased load on the network. There are other providers of the NBN out there. #sheeple listening will take any slow downs or outages as being Telstra’s fault/problem.

@olsod45 @BobBurn97207272 @R64862Rvan We are not America slick. That debt is all Labor's. When you announce major infra structure and I mean major! With zero funding put in place to fund it. As your arse is being shown the door. Which Labor does every time and requiring some else to find the money. Then your always going to be working from behind. We were debt free as Howard left office. Then along came Rudd with the NBN and Gillard with the NDIS. Announced with massive fanfare and zero funding. Granted Morrison and the idiot Turnbul didn't help either by throwing money at them. We are heading for a recession (we had to have) but you appear to have your head ensconced in a very dark place.

  • alicefarquson
    alicefarquharson (@alicefarquson) reported

@oscarcsims also very confusing policy/reg space. govt essentially renationalised Telstra infrastructure in leasing a bunch of its assets to the NBN. yet Telstra still runs emergency services, payphones, landlines - not NBN. minimal economic incentives, maximal telco corporate welfare

  • nathan_knows
    VersionNaught (@nathan_knows) reported

@strangerous10 A lot of people forget the NBN was in part to shift the fixed broadband service monopoly from Telstra.

  • ianclarkeAU
    Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported

@DoodyDarren @CovfefeDnUnder Can NBN do this? No, and it never will. Of course wired networks, such as aarpnet are way better for some applications. The fallacy is that NBN is about technology, when it’s about a cross subsidy.

  • Rolly50Hundred
    Rolly polly (@Rolly50Hundred) reported

@B_e_n_n_y @r0ck3t23 It’s already obsolete. If you have decent 5G it’s light years ahead of NBN. Most cities don’t have proper 5G though. They think they do but it’s awful pretty much everywhere except Gold Coast.

  • 1963amh
    Andrea (@1963amh) reported

@SharkaByrne @newscomauHQ I paid extra to keep it at the time, so it would be accessible when nbn goes down. Or so I thought. Not sure what I paid extra for ( possibly another outlet )but it didn’t work, totally useless when it’s down. So much for progress.

  • MaximilPlan3t
    Max Revelation (@MaximilPlan3t) reported

@GregNordo @AllBiteNoBark88 I just had another go with Optus. Literally no internet during peak hrs. Their NBN is unbelievably bad, even my business plan was dropping out 20 times a day. Aldi it is.....

  • IyBrat
    Brat (@IyBrat) reported

@Batman2242 Idiot without NBN you would not have internet during COVID to jack off

  • RogerWi42848146
    1inover1000areFactual (@RogerWi42848146) reported

@WhosFibbing Serious outages occurred under the LNP, including failures that blocked Triple Zero, crippled mobile networks, and shut down parts of the NBN. Some were longer, larger, or more dangerous than the recent Telstra event. So please do carry on.

  • MarkA5859
    Mark A (@MarkA5859) reported

I really am angry the LNP rooted the NBN. Now I have to seriously consider Musk’s Starlink for my Internet especially since both Telstra & Optus have & are having issues.
